With the ending being so bleak and confusing, I believe this would of been a much better set up for Mass Effect 2. In fact, the whole take Earth back Campaign, would have been a much better plot point for the second game, especially since sequels tend to go darker.
This would of have whole heartly open up much discussion and anticipation for ME3. i think it would have been awesome for ME3 to be a counter offensive campagin to hunt down the remainding reapers and the possible races that attempted to make deals with them in-order to take part in their species dominance.
Thoughts?
Should the Plot for ME3 been ME2?

the plot for ME 3 should never have been the plot of the end game of a trilogy because it was a brand new plot thought up after those two games were already done that casts aside half of what is alluded to in those games and creates a new plot that has no backbuild or anything in the previous games. The plot for ME 3 and most specificialy the ending would be fine as a standalone game but it fails hard as the culmination of a trillogy. You dont change the plot of your trillogy in the third act and expect it to go well and make sense, but this is exactly What Bioware did and expected.
