As others have said, OP is grasping at straws, and quite poorly.

In regards to the picture, Bioware has not stolen anything. Same with the Tali photo. The pictures are public domain. Is it lazy? Absolutely! But definitely not theft.

Did any of the people raging about this ever stop and notice that the ENTIRE GAME is riddled with references and homage to sci-fi, music, and various things from pop culture? Normally we call those "easter eggs". Games and movies do it all the time.

Not talking about legal-ise stealing, talking about intellectually stealing. Like if you drew a random scrawl and toss it, and I copy it almost exactly and make millions on it.. is it illegal? No. Is it theft? Not legally, but morally it is. They're tossing this stuff out like its their own idea...to which I go "Wtf, why am I buying this game then? I could just go on Deviantart."

Homage is great, ME1 and a lot of ME2 was exactly that. I'm seeing a different beast in ME3, and I'm not comfortable with that.

Picture of a 144 character tweet.

Looks totally legit.

Just quoting for emphasis, as OP said he'd remove it if proved false.

Y'know... I have spent hours upon hours on this thread.

I'm not going to lie: It hurts when people claim I am grasping at straws.

If you MUST tell me I am grasping at straws, please tell me which straws in particular and why you feel that way so I can strengthen what appears to my mind to be reasonable?

I'm going to re-write and overhaul main thread tomorrow. Everything will be clear, organized, and HOPEFULLY people will stop with the straw crap.

I am NOT some strange new medical oddity straw hoarder!

Yup.

Twitter thing is fake. It sounded full of DERP to begin with.

I can't seem to edit things because my iPhone generally seems to enjoy watching me wait for 3 minutes to load up a paragraph.

Will destroy the Twitter picture with wrath of furious God when I get home.

I detest the endings, and even I must launch the palm-to-face missiles.

Eh, it could be like the Dark Side of the Moon / Wizard of Oz thing. A lot of things match, but it's coincidence.

LOTS OF SPECULATION!

Tehzim, The fact that 20+ coincidences almost line up next to one another, some in different levelsfrom one another, is precisely why it is hard for me to chalk it up to chance.

Everything seems to fit so well it becomes comical.

So Tali is a stock photo, and the grand Mass Effect trilogy finale is a stupid song..... nice going!

Now when I think of Bioware Headquarters, all I see is Casey Hudson standing on a Bioware office desk, passionately air guitaring with Starchild blaring over the speaker system.

According to the APP the Final Hours, Metallica´s One seems to be an actual source of inspiratio.

Now I understand a LOT. Because if the source has to be Thrash, I´d rather go for South of Heaven from Slayer.

And now when I think about release day, I see the head execs standing around that fountain in las Vegas, slowly leaving one by one.

Except instead of a beautiful Clair De Lune music playing, the scene is accomanied with the ear-assaulting sounds of Starchild.

I don't have any problems with the final scene being a stock photo, really any photo would do, why not make it a homage to something else?

The Tali stock photo on the other hand....awful, just awful, I can't get behind defining an entire race by a quick google search.

How could Casey Hudson like the sounds of angry cats fighting with alarm clocks on a floor made entirely of chalkboard?

Will overhaul, organize, and perfect this when I get to my laptop in 45 minutes.

I invite everyone to re-read it once it is done. It'll be good. Half of it is already done and SOOOOOOooo much more clear and logical.

I wouldn't even say it's morally wrong. That's what stock photos are there for to begin with. It's done all the time in the entertainment industry, whether people notice or care or not. I repeat what I said before, it's just incredibly lazy that they didn't even bother to do what's referred to as jpeg-bashing to change it up more. They were probably strapped for time (They cranked the game out in what, two years?), but I think most people agree Tali's face was a detail better left on the cutting room floor than halfarsed.
