The Stargazer scene concept was taken from a seventh grade student from Berlin who sent a letter to Casey Hudson.
The boy stated that "It would be cool if Shepard had a child and this child was roaming around a cave and found a prophecy and knew what to do about it because he's Shepard's son."
Casey Hudson stitched that letter to his office door as a reminder that everybody should get at least, one piece of the ending which was the same for every player.

Mac Walters explains that "there's things of the story you don't need to know because they will always be less cool that what you had imagined for them"
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Martin Sheen's dialogue was delayed from August to mid-november because Bioware was still "experimenting different endings"
"It had to be the end of Commander Shepards saga but there was still debate as wether he should die or not"

The purpose of the ending was not to provide closure but "to make sure players felt certain feelings so the end sequence was written to provoke these feelings" rather than provide story closure
This alone is enough evidence to show that bioware has lost touch with how to create good plots

and goes against everything they promised for the ending..

They deliberately forwent closure in favor of..... This?
Are they fething insane?!
What the hell, there's a definite disconnect, about as serious as your head being violently disconnected from your neck by tomahawk.

and unless they wanted players to feel dissapointed and confused they even failed at that.

clearly yes they are, both Hudson and Walters should be ashamed and frankly neither of them should ever be put in charge of any product of importance after this if they still believe that this is a good way to end the series. If this kind of vision is going to conitnue to be the guiding light of bioware then the best result is honestly for bioware to completely tank and get it over with rather than limping on as a shell of its formerself pushing out crappy stories with mediocre game mechanics.

Just saying the Stargazer scene is totally fine in my books. It shows the Shepard has become a salvific Figure aka "The Shepard" in the far away Future and the his Name is remembered for eternity.
and Mac Walters is totally right. In my opinion they shouldn't have shown Talis Face at all. Just leave it to the imagination of the players. There are so many incredible Fan-Arts of Tali in the internet, no of them would exist it They had shown Talis Face early in the games.
So they debated the ending, that only shows that they were trying to get it right, nothing else. They kind of missed it, but if the expand the Endings with a little more clarity and some forshadowing of whats next, it could be really cool.

why is it always the Germans
it's a pattern. In the last cycle a race known as Ze Germans also ruined the ending of Proteanware's blockbuster hit "Zha'Til Effect 3"
