Casey Hudson stitched that letter to his office door as a reminder that everybody should get at least, one piece of the ending which was the same for every player.

So how'd we get from "one piece of the ending" to "all pieces of the ending"?

for those who haven't bought it:

The Stargazer scene concept was taken from a seventh grade student from Berlin who sent a letter to Casey Hudson.
The boy stated that "It would be cool if Shepard had a child and this child was roaming around a cave and found a prophecy and knew what to do about it because he's Shepard's son."

Casey Hudson stitched that letter to his office door as a reminder that everybody should get at least, one piece of the ending which was the same for every player.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Mac Walters explains that "there's things of the story you don't need to know because they will always be less cool that what you had imagined for them"

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Martin Sheen's dialogue was delayed from August to mid-november because Bioware was still "experimenting different endings"
"It had to be the end of Commander Shepards saga but there was still debate as wether he should die or not"

So the little German kid got the ending he wanted and we didn't:crying:? The Stargazer scene doesn't make any sense to me because my LI was Liara, which means Shepard's son is supposed to be an Asari not a Human
I still hope that we all get the endings we wanted.

Let us decide what we need/don't need to know because after the first endings its very clear that things didn't work out very well.

Are they still debating about wether he should die or not ??

Am I allowed to post screenshots of the app? I will if I can

I'm pretty sure people have done it many times before, with that little note that ends with Lots of Speculation From Everyone.

yes, but haven't those screenies been taken down and the user banned?
Hasn't anybody bought the app also? Anybody who purchased the app can confirm this info

If this quote is accurate, Mac Walters is a weak and cowardly writer. No question.
Jeez, that's painful to think about. I have always admired the guy.

Origin of this idea and the validity of Final Hours aside, it's not even a good idea. It's just an idea that needs a whole lot of work.

The purpose of the ending was not to provide closure but "to make sure players felt certain feelings so the end sequence was written to provoke these feelings" rather than provide story closure

The fu did I just hear?

Why in the hell would anyone ever think this was a good idea? Seroiusly how much of a jackass do you have to be to think this is a good idea?

I don't think they're telling the full truth..I think he was going to go for the 7th graders idea, and had copies of ME1&2 sitting on his table when someone brought a baby into his office, who then puked all over the previous games, he sat there stunned for a second then shouted "BRILLIANT!".

Sigh. Provoking feelings and providing closure are not mutually exclusive. That child should also not be playing these games. This pretty much proves they aimed for the wrong target audience.

So how do we go from Shepard's kid in a cave to the space child who is so intimating that he can't be argued with?

I guess those "certain feelings" are rage, frustration and disappointment.

Not to be a history nerd up in this biatch but... you guys do know it was Britian and France that declared war on Germany to start WW2 right? ;)

And if you give me the "they invaded Poland" argument, Germany AND Russia invaded Poland... so if you're gonna use that moral argument, they should have declared war on both.

Damn it's good to be a history nerd.... lol

But anyway.... Damn that child and this final hours app continues to make me face palm.
