Wow Mac.... just wow. Gotta hand it to you, you certainly accomplished your mission and made us 'feel things'. Rage, confusion, disbelief, disappointment, sorrow...... so thanks. Forgive me if I careful step around any of your future work.

What happnened to Bioware being grade A artists who won't change their products to please fans, then? That defense wears thinner by the day.

Didn't they change the ending once already because of the leaked script?

It almost the same, may be even worst.

also, I don't understand about 'artist' they bring up. Didn't they let us choose how femshep look like, is that
what they called artist?

I have a hard time calling something art when you shove in a real life person(Chobot) as a gimick.
So them claming that they don't want to change it because of "artistic integrity" is BS for a hole lot of reasons.

I don't think the Stargazer part was really the problem with the ending.

The purpose of the ending was not to provide closure but "to make sure players felt certain feelings so the end sequence was written to provoke these feelings" rather than provide story closure

I'm pretty sure that's not what they promised us before the game launched<_<

I'm not sure what kind of feelings BioWare wanted to provoke. If they wanted me to facepalm and wish I'd never reached the end of the game then they succeded though.

Its not even what they promised us AFTER the game was Gold meaning they were still promising that it would After the game was done and being put on discs.

Is this a joke? They listen to the fans for stupid crap like this but not when everyone gets pissed a them? Now I know that I'm really finished with BioWare regardless of what they change.

You're right. They kept promising closure, satisfaction and 'choices matter' right until game launched. That makes it even worse.

Though it seems the ending was, in fact, thought of by a 7 year old kid. My that does rather explain a lot about the sheer amount of fail in the ending...

Yep. I bet they regret the "provoke these feelings" options right about now

The even bigger problem is that apparently they don't everythign they have said seems to indicate they still feel that these endings are just fine and should be accepted as they are. Which demonstrates that their disconnection from reality is so great that there likely is no way that anythign they do to try and fix the endings will ever actualy work or fix anything.

There wasn't anything inherently wrong with the Stargazer scene. That is, if the game had a proper ending. If I had seen something that tied up the loose ends and made me feel good (even bittersweet would have been fine), I would have found the Stargazer scene to be incredibly touching. It would have felt real and true, instead of like a tacked-on, thinly veiled insult prompting us to buy DLC.

They got their priorities wrong, and if the rumors are true only Casey Hudson and Mac Walters wrote the ending, not the wrest of the writing team. This whole thing was a fail of galactic proportions.

Definetly not. Kinda cemented the idea that Shepard became a legend. Its all the stuff before it (and all the stuff that it lacks) that makes the ending terrible. I personally would keep the stargazer part though, maybe alter it a bit.

You should enjoy this: fc04.deviantart.net/fs71/f/2012/065/6/9/the_reapers_invade_equestria_by_sheason-d4rz25k.jpg

Reminded me of this.

Mac Walters explains that "there's things of the story you don't need to
know because they will always be less cool that what you had imagined
for them"

Stuff like this works when you want to create mystery around something. For example motives of Reapers, which IMHO should have been left vague. But we do not have context I what parts he is exactly talking about, so no further comments. If this is about ending and they want to leave it vague, terrible mistake as they have propably noticed by now...

I keep reading this post and my brain keeps telling me I must be reading it wrong.

Edit: wait I misread I thought it said starchild not star gazer. I actually liked the star gazer scene and it would have been fine if the rest of the endings had actually been different.

That'd be awesome if the endings provoked any feelings besides confusion, disbelief, and diarrhea.

I can image the final hours app creator reading this thread and going "trololololololololololo", but on the other hand, if what OP said is true then "WTF?" *face palm*

"How about a raciest slave proagator and a blue chick who will take her ****** out for you?"

Honestly I wouldn't let my 14 year old sister see a fair chunk of what is in this game, and the fact that a 7th grader has played to screams of fail parenting.
