I think the ending isn't the disappointing thing about ME3.
The worst thing is that the important decisions didn't really affect ME3.
It didn't reallly matter if I
1. saved the Rachni Queen
2. saved the council
3. made Anderson to the new council member
4. saved the Collectorbase
All that only affects your EMS which is....USELESS, becuase everybody gets the same ending
The only decision which REALLY affected ME3 was the decision if you saved Kaidan or Ashley.

Mass Effect 3 was the same games for everyone, with very few variations.
