Everyone trusted Bioware once, allow them to redeem themselves one more time. After all these years, shouldn't they deserve a chance to put things right?

Ahhhmm, for most guys here, me included, ME3 was BioWares chance to redeem their status as a quality game manufacturer after the DA2 debacle...

They had DA2 and TOR for that.

Out of all the things they did right, your going to crucify them on 2 game titles? IMHO, the problems with those titles weren't too glaring, not game-breaking IMHO.

I think it's too early to start torching Bioware HQ, but I believe in giving them the chance to present their side in PAX. I'll be waiting patiently... but I'll be sharpening my pitchfork and knives as well.

Bioware worked so hard to make the game and it looks like after all of their hard work and effort that the best they'll get is a clarification to an ending they already find unsatisfactory to begin with.

I don't like seeing people crash and burn so I can't help but feel bad for all those who gave it their all and ended up failing.

Mass Effect 3's ending is final.

Fixed it for you.

If this is actually what is provided in the end, the ones we should feel sorry for are the developers who poured their hearts and souls into making this game only to see it go down in flames over one tragic decision.

You misunderstand.

One tragic decision?

Assets didn't matter in the entirety of the game, but we spent many hours building them up.

Our choices and decisions all resulted in one thing happening, no variations, no differences, the result was always the same. Our choices never mattered.

We never chose which civilizations lived or died, they all go about their lives in the way ordained by the writers.

Continuity of the series is gone.

The 10 minute ending scene wasn't the problem, it was just part of the problem.

You wouldn't have had a choice at the end at all if you hadn't built up your EMS. The game picks an ending based on whether you saved the Collector Base or not if you haven't done enough to prepare yourself.

No you... just...

I'll say it again.

ASSETS

THE FLEETS THE ARMIES THEY HAVE NO IMPACT ON THE ENDING, THE ONLY THING ASSETS DO IS AFFECT THE COLOR OF THE CRUCIBLE AND THE POTENTIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR SHEPARD ON THE DESTROY-RED ENDING TO TAKE A FINAL GASP ILLOGICALLY.

In the final battle, the fleets that we see fighting are not the ones I put together, they are not using the current technology in ME3, they are not even checking their firing solutions as we were told they are required to do in ME2. Instead we had barrage firing with their home-world behind them. We also saw primarily cruisers, nothing else but cruisers and possibly the Destiny Ascension and then that disappeared. Our fleets and armies which should have affected the battle of Earth in a significant WAY AS THEY PROMISED IN INTERVIEWS were instead replaced by generic forces that die a miserable death.

Our choices

Our assets

Our continuity

Our characters

Our time

It was all a waste and none of it mattered.

DA2 made me hate RPG's and nearly give them up, made me feel like BioWare was insulting me, and made me hate the DA series in entirety. Worse, it made me feel so bored and dull that it felt like a terrible job I was working at.

TOR took my hopes for a story-focused MMO and instead gave me primarily generic flashpoints that were not what we were advertised, gave minimal, yet repetitive content, and sometimes didn't even pay proper attention to the endings of the class, and now they're focusing on Legacy and other garbage that is not what we were promised when we beta'ed or bought this game.

These are significant titles, and now they've done ME3 which insults me further.

That's 3 titles I bought immediately upon release at the best edition possible.

That's 3 times they played me for a fool.

We still have a hope that BioWare will make perfect ending DLC.

Hold the line!

Like you deserve your god-child contradicting plothole mess of an ending.

OP, Thanks for the sentiment, but I am not done yet...

We all deserved that.

I'm sorry my friend, but the hope is lost.  Ray Muzyka has already confirmed nothing more than calrification, not change.

This is a difficult time, anything we can do to help please let us know.

Does anyone else here feel sorry for the Bioware revitalization movement?

They worked so hard to get their stained reputation restored and it looks like after all of their hard work and PR shenenigans the best they'll get is 50,000 copies of ME4 sold, which the series the fans already find unsatisfactory to begin with.

Retake was more than just the 5 minutes, it was the experience that was destroyed for us by the demolition.

In any case, we aren't done yet.

I'm afraid it's over.  Bioware has already confirmed that they will not be changing the ending, only calrifying it.  I think it is our duty to show moral support for the retake Mass Effecters and indoctrinationist who must be going through tremendous emotional pain right now knowing that their movement has failed.

It's ok guys, there is still Bethesda.

Proof of confirmation? I haven't seen anything legit, just a some tweet that got deleted. I'm not giving up until April when we hear something officially, not just guesses.

Hold the line.

I applaud the retake movement, For any other game people would just write the game off as sub-par(i know I would) but instead they are giving Bioware a chance.

Some people seem to forget that the alternative to trying to get them to change the ending would be massive disappointment, writing the games off and negative reviews. Instead Bioware have a chance to earn a positive review from people who disliked the game.

It shows that the retake movement are the real fans, not fanboys, who will accept any old POS and applaud whoever sells it to them and claim the yare beyond repproach.

I don't feel sorry for the retake movement. They've gotten more of a lynch mentality as of late, turning on anyone who doesn't specifically want the Indoc ending. I disliked the endings as they are. I even thought the Indoc movement had some good points. Unfortunately it seems as if those who are in favor of rewriting the entire end and forcing Indoc on all of it from an earlier point than some would want, are rather offensive in how aggressive they are, even to those who may agree with them about the endings.

I feel more sorry for the rift that is slowly forming between those who disliked the endings and would like better, and those who are extremely specific in exactly what they feel the endings (Indoc theory has to be this and done this way type thing) HAVE to be without any compromise or care for anyone else's ideas or thoughts on the matter.

That doesn't seem true at all. It seems more like you saw one or two people with that lynch mentality and attributed it to the whole group. Most people seem to be keeping pretty calm about this thing. You just don't notice them as much because of the fact that they are calm.

I feel sorry for everyone involved.

I feel sorry for Bioware.
I feel sorry for the fans who no doubt will have trouble investing so much emotionally in a game again.
I feel sorry that Mass Effect probably not primarily will be remembered for all its wonderful content and that it failed to end on the high note that it deserved and seemed destined to do.

I actually feel sorry for Bioware, since I'm sure there are still ppl with passion who know how bad it all turned out, yet they can't do sh*t right now.

The ones who are extremely upset - I was curious about what these people were like in real life.  You know, are they the type to throw tantrems when they don't get their way?  Are they part of the older or younger crowd of gamers?

Anyways, I found this video.  I think it is a kid who doesn't like the ending to ME3.   I'd skip to 2:20, it gets better.

No. But I do feel sorry for anyone who likes the slapdash mess of an ending in there now.

You, and the game in general, deserve better.

Let's see what happens in April before we start telling people they've failed and/or being to proclaim victory.

I guess I'll just never understand how anyone can dig that thing that's attached to the end of the game now.
