Does anyone else here feel sorry for the Retake Mass Effect movement?

I don't feel sorry for any 'movement' that wants to change a videogame. It isn't really that important. If you want to get behind something real then support fixing the plot holes in the 9/11 Commission Report, or get behind the Occupy movement or something that has real consequence beyond getting to see 'blue babies' at the end of a game.

Honestly, I don't believe in indoctrination theory- I'd accept it as the only way we'd get a different ending DLC but I'm not a believer. I also am not quite ready to believe that Bioware is hanging us out to dry. I want to believe in the best of people and that includes them. I support the Retake ME3 movement because I want to have the choices back- keep the Catalyst and have one option where you can defy it, fight Harbinger and hinge everything then on what you have done as the outcome of the battle.

Believe me, I want Bioware to do this even if it means preordering all their games from now on because they will have proved that they care about the players. It's all I need, even a we messed up but we can't fix it now would be acceptable.

Those interested in demanding free DLC need to grow up- we get this ending, we should fulfill our end of this covenant by paying for it.

Truth be told, if they 'Clarify' the ending, fix the plot holes, or go along with the Indoctrination theory in their clarification I'll be all for it. My problems was always the lack of Clarification.

This Vid is a must watch if you've seen the end of the game.

The INDOCTRINATION THEORY!!!
Seriously, click that link if you've already beaten the game. It will at least amuse you. It was well put together!

They worked so hard to get the ending changed and it looks like after all of their hard work and effort that the best they'll get is a clarification to an ending they already find unsatisfactory to begin with.

I don't like seeing people crash and burn so I can't help but feel bad for all those who gave it their all and ended up failing.

Mass Effect 3's ending is final.

Starting a flame war will not work now we are all tired and we are saving up for the upcoming battle that I suspect will take place in April I mean are we seriously exspecting BW do anything at this point ?

We still have a hope that BioWare will make perfect ending DLC.

Hold the line!

...Oh, and Retake Mass Effect didn't fail actually. They keep doing great job: http://retakemasseffect.tumblr.com/

I'm sorry my friend, but the hope is lost.  Ray Muzyka has already confirmed nothing more than calrification, not change.

This is a difficult time, anything we can do to help please let us know.

I know about Ray Muzyka's official reply. He confirms nothing. He just stated that he was very surprised by core fans' reaction, and now BioWare is searching the ways to fix it.

Nothing really clear, but you know, BioWare have to understand that if they will not make a perfect ending DLC, they will loose most fans and a lot of reputation... Well... All reputation actually. And it will negatively affect EA income in the future.

Well, I don't live on the internet.  :)  And I don't follow online "trends".  So, how am I to know?

Mods asleep? No lock on this? I'm surprised...

Well, I'll just say that I'm part of Retake. And I don't feel like it's "over" or that we "lost", I feel like we successfully got BioWare to listen, to be aware that there was an issue, and that now they're working hard on whatever they're going to do to fix it. If they're gonna call that "clarification" or "closure" or whatever, fine. Just make it work. I'm not big on Indoc, and I haven't been vicious to anyone on these boards about my ending views. Respectful, civil and visible is the way to go.

In conclusion: Thank you for the sentiment, but it's unnecessary. No need to feel sorry for me. I'm fine!

We can start with this, then progress to that later.

Does anyone else think it's getting a little ridiculous that there are retakers claiming victory and threads saying they lost, all before anything really comes out?
If BW has any intelligence at all, they will take the middle ground between change nothing and change everything.

I don't feel sorry for the retake movement. They've gotten more of a lynch mentality as of late, turning on anyone who doesn't specifically want the Indoc ending. I disliked the endings as they are. I even thought the Indoc movement had some good points. Unfortunately it seems as if those who are in favor of rewriting the entire end and forcing Indoc on all of it from an earlier point than some would want, are rather offensive in how aggressive they are, even to those who may agree with them about the endings.

I feel more sorry for the rift that is slowly forming between those who disliked the endings and would like better, and those who are extremely specific in exactly what they feel the endings (Indoc theory has to be this and done this way type thing) HAVE to be without any compromise or care for anyone else's ideas or thoughts on the matter.

Huh?  Maybe I am just out of the loop somehow but...  HUH???

Apparently your experience with the Retake Movement is as far away from mine as experiences can get!  Also please note, I am not attacking you, I am just confused as to how you formed your opinion?

I don't agree with the Indoc Theory at all, I think it would be a lame cop out.  But I am not attacking anyone who likes it.  I am definitely in the Retake Movement and I am proud to be a part of it.

As for the rift forming?  I think that is because some people want to feel badly for BioWare.  I mean, we bad evil "Retakers" just can't stop making demands -- right?  <-- I don't actually believe this, I am making a point that others do.

But from the onset all I have ever asked for or wanted was the very same thing I was given in ME1 and 2.  No more, no less.  It was expected that BioWare deliver the same quality as the first two games.  ME3 could have been called ANYTHING -- Shepard could have been ANYONE as long as that ending stays in my opinion.  It wasn't ME3 to me... because it goes against everything we were told by BioWare in ME1 and 2.

Why are you here?

I mean... if we are all just being silly, and you disapprove, why did you bother to open this thread?  I mean... other than to school us with your derisive opinion that is...

Gotta be honest; if there's one group of people that I feel sorry for, it's those who watch the endings and are fooled by Bioware's "art" defense into thinking that it's some deep, philosophical masterpiece and that the vocal detractors are simply not able to comprehend it when in truth, it's just a rushed and incomplete ending.

BioWare won't change a bit. They've declared it multiple times on Twitter. That's fine, they get to keep their artistic integrity, I'll keep my money.

Self pity isn't a virtue I hold on to. With this movement, I've donated $40 to charity (not asking for a refund). I've stood side by side with people that feel the same way I do, and we made internet shake. It's an experience that I will remember fondly, and I have a feeling we haven't seen the best of it yet. Wait for an official announcement, wait for a release date, and wait for the code. Hold the Line.

As a (sort of) "Retaker", yep.

All Bioware has said is that they're doing something; while that's a minor victory in and of itself, it's still way too vague for anyone to be celebrating and claiming justice in the name of the righteous.

Nothing to be sorry about. We are taking a stand as consumers and fans to get an ending this beloved franchise deserves. We have won a battle per say by getting Bioware acknowledgment but the fight is far from over.

It's easy for people to attack one another, it takes strength to stand for what you believe and agree to disagree with people of differing opinions.

And I'm proud to stand side by side with them as well.

If it's a DLC we do not want, then we do not buy. I don't think any of us are going to buy this "clarification" DLC without looking it up on youtube first.

what's the purpose of this thread? bashing and insulting fans just because they didn't liked the endings??
What is the purpose of the OP? make people fight each other for what they believe?

I feel sorry for the f**king morons who asked "how much do we need to donate to get the ending changed?" or who thought the they were actually paying for a new ending. It's gorram retards like that that show us why we can't have nice things. And no, I'm not joking. We could've reached $100k if those imbeciles had common sense.

One of the greatest strengths of the Retake movement is that it allows anyone who is unhappy with the game to connect with others who feel the same , share information as it goes live , and to react organically when there is an affront , attack , lie , dissemination , or other tactic that attempts to pull the wool over someone's eyes . Information especially for new people who are finishing the game is key . There is still a very large amount of individuals here despite the so called setbacks and while those who have been exhausted get some rest , I'll keep searching for information and helpful things to share with others concerning this ending controversy .

So, you didn't like the ending?  Because Shepard, the Cycle, and the entire galaxy gave it their all and failed [to survive.]

I noticed that you only have the ME3 icon beneath your profile pic. Did you play the first three games? Did you spend five years of your life shaping a story only to find out in ten horrible minutes that all of that work was apparently for nothing? This is important, to a huge number of devoted Mass Effect players and fans. If you want to disagree fine, but please be respectful.
