Need help or tips with these quests;

Circle of magi;
Watchguard of the reaching; have not been able to complete this quest.
Summoning sciences: is this something that should be completed as we do the main mage quest?

Orzammar;
Can we help Brother Burkel to start a chantry without the coercion skill? My main char in my second char's group does not have this skill. It was easy with my first char wich had the skill. Too bad this skill does not help the party when one of the joined partymembers has it :(
Whom should we support, the prince or Harrowhaunt? I can't find anything in-game to help decide one way or the other. Wich one of them are good or bad? Or is the game the same no matter wich one we choose?

How do we get access to the areas for the 'a mothers hope' quest and 'lost to the memories' and the Ortan Thaig?

with the circle quests, search them on the site, the description is long. Also, it is in your codex.

on the orzammar quest, yes you need high coercion or a high enough cunning score for it to not matter

TAB is your friend in this game, unless you have chnaged your shortcut keys. Basically it shows up all interactable things around you in the room etc.

This way you will never miss any vital quest stuff etc. You have to find these notes to be able to start the summoning sciences, once you have all the note pieces, the codex under quest stuff will tell you exactly what to do.

As for the Orzammar part, as levigarrett said, you just need to have a cunning or coersion to get the chantry opened.

Thanks but I might not have found all the pieces then. I know about tab.

Once you side with a king, they will eventually send you into the Deep Roads. You do those quests on the way.

You can ask a lot of the NPCs in Orzammar about their opinions of the two candidates. Anyway, Harrowmont and Bhelen both have their good and bad points. Don't agonize over a "right" choice, just support whoever feels right to you and enjoy (or lament) the consequences of your choice in the epilogue. More engaging that way, at least to me. :)

The candidate you're working for will grant you access into the Deep Roads eventually.

Proceed with helping either candidate and you'll be able to go into the Deep Roads where you can complete those side quests.

You only get a very basic overview of what Harrowmont and Bhelen stand for, mostly talking to 1-2 Merchants.

Harrowomont is what you might consider a conservative, he puts a strong emphasis on tradition and preserving Dwarven Culture, the Caste system, isolation from the surface, and says that leading by example is more important than putting up a strong front.

Bhelen would be more 'liberal' or reformer, he wants to do away with lots of the isolationist policies, caste system, and ceremony that he feels stagnates Dwarven culture as a whole. He's also a liar and a backstabber, whether you want to believe its justified/Bhelen himself thinks its justified is up to you.

There is a letter from the now-dead King Aeducan to Lord Pyral Harrowmont in which he expresses his regret for permitting the exile of his third child (the warden if he/she is a Dwarf Noble). If I'm not mistaken, it has something against Bhelen in it, but don't quote me on that. Another thing you'll notice is that most of Bhelen's lackeys are thugs, or morally twisted in some way or another, like as the Provings fighter who's blackmailing one of Harrowmont's men.

The game doesn't force you to one side from the start, and you may choose to support the other candidate any time up to the end of the quest, so I'd suggest picking any side and making your decision based on the Codex entries you gain while you're at it. All this, of course, assumes you're not into meta-gaming.

I think the question the OP was asking concerning "summoning sciences" was whether or not the quest could be completed while you were doing the tower portion, or would you need to come back after the tower quest was competed.

As for Watchguard of the Reaching, that one was a pain for me as well. My first warrior didn't finish it, but that was due in part to the fact that I was trying to rush things. There are four things to click, but not all of them are in the room where you find the last note. That's all I'll say.

Thanks for the help.

My two poor dwarfs (one rogue and one warrior) will want to end the caste system, as they know the poor can do more than begging/stealing. So they will go for the prince.

But many of my elfs and humans will choose differently just for fun. :)

Harrowmont is the more honorable and morally upstanding guy. but his policies are very conservative and backwards and lead to much suffering for the casteless dwarves.

Bhelen is a treacherous, murderous, power-hungry scumbag. but his policies are very forward thinking and are actually a big improvement for many of the dwarves who are screwed by the current system.
