So, this becomes available immediately after Horizon, I have it already installed when starting other playthroughs and I do not want to un-install/re-install Arrival everytime I want to play ME2, as I do many playthroughs of this game. I would rather play Arrival post-SM. So when I am playing the game and I finish Horizon, I am in a dilemma about whether to access my Private Terminal to read messages, therefore activating Arrival or to just ignore it completely until post SM. However, doing the latter prevents you from ever being able to read new messages, especially about other missions and as i recall some or at least one N7 missions require you to read a message to be able to access another. Being a roleplayer, I usually like to read the messages when Kelly tells me I have a new one. I've also considered accessing the terminal after Horizon, talking to Hackett and my Shepard telling him there's more important things to do and going about my business as usual, doing all the Loyalty missions, Reaper IFF and such and after the SM, travelling to rescue Dr. Kenson, but it seems like she's been there for such a long time since Hackett told me about her. So I'm just wondering, those people who prefer to do Arrival last and already have it installed, what do you do about it?

Way, I see it, if you just check your messages like you always would, the only reality-breaker you're dealing with is one message that shouldn't really be there. Ignore that and you're fine. Every other solution seems to involve more problems.

I just ignore it too. If it seems to be waving at you from the unread messages screen then mark it as read so it's even easier to ignore. Then you can play as if it came in just before you went off to the SM and you did it as soon as you came back or whatever suits your preferred narrative. It'd be better still if you didn't have the cutscene with Hackett talking to you trigger until you want it to but there doesn't seem to be a perfect answer. I just put my brain on the hook, skip through the Hackett conversation as fast as possible, mark the message as read and then pretend none of it happened until I decide I want to do Arrival.
