Interesting. It can all be easily taken out of context.. and widely speculated on.

I don't think any of us should be worried or complaining right now.

Some of it actually sounds good to me. Let's hope there's more than 2 writers working on it.

"Mass Shift". That just sounds all sorts of wrong.

I refuse to believe this is real. If they'd kill off one of my favorite characters, the last way I'd want them to do it is have them commit suicide. I'm sure they'd know how many people would be pissed off from that.

Now that that's out of the way, this sounds even more convoluted than the ending we have atm.

So they make a game where Shepard is not Shepard anymore, just to keep us interested.
Also, if they want to continue the franchise, why destroy the Relays? If they were still there, then the Mass Effect universe as we know it would still exist.
I just really hope this is not true, just give us some closure for the ending we have and leave Shepard alone, the more they try to push Shepard's story ahead, the bigger is the chance for something to go wrong.
Also, VS possible suicide?

This is where I actually think "artistic integrity" is true. If BioWare wants to kill a character, they shouldn't stop for fear of fan reaction.
It'd be nice if choices matter, and they did or didn't die depending on them. But choices don't matter, so they'd probably just die.

Approved: Protagonist of Mass Shift is the next transmigration of the Catalyst.

Advent seeks to halt advancement of synthetics across the galaxy.

CC4+

Xy - Hanar exiled for his "problematic" confidence and impoliteness. (Approved)
Filbert - Biotic elcor too small/weak to live amongst his own kind. (Approved)
Liara - Matriarch (Approved)
Bresha - Female krogan, distant granddaughter of Wrex.
Advent - Protagonist (Approved)
Asad Grim - Shadow Broker and Director of Council Space. Volus villain-to-ally.
(Storyboard available)
Murmur - The last Reaper, removed from the hivemind. (Approved)

So, if this would be true, than would Advent (old Shep) be a good guy, or would he be more of an Antihero, or would we even play a Villian?

I´m a bit confused ....

You know it probably won't matter right? Let's say for a moment that this is real. Look at the release date for Mass Shift - 2014. That says to me that it would be designed for next gen consoles. Even when the 360 was backwards compatible with the Xbox (kinda) you couldn't carry saves over. Obviously USB and cloud storage makes it easier but there's a good chance that the next gen consoles won't be backwards compatible in order to keep costs down and if that's the case, Mass Effect 4 will be a complete fresh start. Any saves you have will be irrelevant.

If this leak is true, and I'm not saying that it is, it seems to me that Bioware are trying to create a situation where you get closure for the characters but your decisions won't really carry over to the next game. They may be thinking that if your saves don't carry over, they can make an arbitrary choice as to which path to follow in ME4.

No kidding, even if it is true it sounds like Bioware is just digging a deeper hole.

Conflict 3) Though resurrected, the character Shepard has ceased to be. The
Catalyst has transmigrated into him via his synthetic components, and he has become
"Advent".

Consideration: Player to be aware of Conflict 3 until Mass Shift, or cliffhanger
for Terminator?

So... it would be like the end of Twin Peaks?

I don't know. Unless someone can say this is real and state a reasonable case I'm calling BS.

this just doesn't sit well with me.

This occured to me as well. I can see EA coming down on Bio with something like "We're gonna ride this franchise 'til the wheels fall off, so make sure we can keep the story going," and in so doing, forcing Bioware to narrow the focus of the endings in order to give them something managable to start anew with.

I don't know. There's a chance that consoles might get more compatible. If not, then future ME3 DLC might allow for a way to export some kind of file that can be read on future consoles. Then again if EA and Microsoft/Sony/Others allow cross-server access then EA could keep your profile on their servers and share that "end game" info with the next console.

But yea there a number of notes that don't make sense, or don't seem to fit. Of course if it is real it's safe to assume that many of these notes are all development or pre-development, things could obviously change over the next 2 years.

As I said on page 3, though, these notes to me seem to fit with the fact that BioWare is hinting that the endings are not changing as they are (simply being elaborated on to provide closure, right?). Pretty interesting.

I don't even know what to think right now. BioWare, I want to believe in you, I really do, but I feel ME3 was an incomplete product. I'll wait for PAX before drawing conclusions.

So wait. Wrex has a granddaughter (despite living for hundreds of years" Liara is a matriarch Tali is alive and Joker retires from "comic relief" despite with the ages of some of the characters Joker should have been long dead...

Look at the companion list, it just screams fake. Hanar? An Elcor named Filbert? Volus? Yeah right.
