I personally wouldn't mind if this was real. It's likely there might be DLC between now and ME4 ("Mass Shift" would be a code name until they decided what to actually call it).

I would guess there is a fair amount of debate going on in Bioware at the moment on how to resolve the ending and despite the fact I'm not thrilled with the it, if they could resolve it in a forth game I'd be happy about it.

There are undoubtably a large number of people at Bioware who do amazing work and I'm prepared to wait and see what happens in April before getting too positive or negative about any of this.

I also hope it's fake. That crap is dumb, almost as dumb as the endings we have now.

So youre saying that Bioware COULDNT have made this?

Of course I'm not saying that.

Seems like fake, but on the other hand, it's the same level of nonsense as the current endings...

it better had be fake. more of this nonsense about synthetics and organics not being able to play nicely together, the geth only ever attacked in self defence and ultimately want to advance to the point of housing their consciousness in a dyson sphere effectively taking them out of galactic politics and EDI has sworn her loyalty to humankind. Yeah bioware organics and synthetics could never get along :/

What I'm thinking is they really like to milk this idea of synthetics CANNOT coexist with organics thing which makes me think that they are doing it to preserve continuity and that the whole issue will be addressed in a later game.

Sometimes no awnser, is the best awnser. I really don't think it's that bad as a draft, but if not done well...it will be worse then DBGT, and that was BAAAAAAAAD.

I'm sorry you won't marry your LI. On the other hand Catalyst will. It's nice isn't it? Personally I don't belive in this piece of s....omething. This only fits with Destroy ending where Shep can stay alive. What with other 2 options?

The saddest thing about this is that we've all lost so much faith in BioWare that we're all willing to entertain that they'd put this out there as a possibility.

Oh, and a VS suicide? Seriously? Everyone else can marry their LI, but only if you happen to like the alien ones ... yeah ... That's going to ****** off a lot of people.

I don't want the Star Child parading around in my Shepard's body as Advent. This reminds me of the end of Lost where the main villain was introduced at the very end of the series and took the form of a beloved character who had died and tricked people into believing the character had resurrected. That pissed me off a great deal...having star child possess my Shepard's body would ****** me off even more. I hope this is fake. It would be the final nail in Bioware's coffin for me if true.

Also, this makes no sense. If all of Shepard's synthetic parts were destroyed what does Star Child transfer itself into?

I've been reading more of the stuff on this on Reddit, and I'm more convinced its fake.

The post implies that Shepard's body crash landed on Earth, but is now the Catalyst and no longer Shepard.

However, you only crash land on Earth if you destroy the Citadel, and the only ending where Shepard becomes the Catalyst utterly dissolves his body. This new stuff seems to combine the destroy and merge ending into one, and ignores the synthesis ending. It screams of fake.

Repetition for the illiterate:

What this leak says (and I'm not saying I believe it, but I figure it's fun to speculate) is the following:

1) There will be a DLC to expand upon the ending released in April. In this DLC, you'll be trying to put Shepard back together for some reason.

2) During this time relations will deteriorate, leading to full scale war within the Sol system.

3) After reviving Shepard, he makes a grand speech where he basically tells everybody they're being goddamn retards and that maybe they should get along. They're humbled, peace is had, LI is married, cue butterflies and rainbows (and mutant freak alien/human hybrid children).

That is the DLC aspect. I'm ignoring all the stuff that is revealed in "Mass Shift" because only an idiot judges story based on the first draft and assumes it will not be changed drastically (especially when release is tentatively slated for 2 years in the future).

EDIT:
Just a note, right now I'm thinking the stuff about the DLC is true, but the thing about 'catalyst' Shepard was an idea that was tossed around but has since been rejected and was included for trolling purposes. The best trolls, afterall, lace half-truths with outright lies.

I've been thinking about this for a bit now, and the more I think about it the faker it sounds. I'm pretty certain now that the whole thing is just an elaborate troll that is (supposedly) from 4-Chan.

First, there are loads of inconsistencies between this, the current ending, and even within the idea itself:

1. It states that Shepard destroys all synthetic life, which means that the "destroy" ending is canon. If this is true then how does he merge with EDI and catalyst? They would have been destroyed as well, and EDI is on the Normandy, which is now nowhere near Shepard.

2. If the destroy ending is canon how did a Reaper survive?

3. How is Shepards Squad supposed to "gather the materials to bring him back" If they crash landed on that planet in the middle of nowhere?

4. How are Squadmates like Liara going to do things like "Rebuild Thessia" with the Relay's destroyed?

5. "Certain species, unable to survive in Sol, make a desperate beeline for distant systems" this would imply the Turians/Quarians, since they cannot consume human food, but under Garrus's bit it talks about "human Turian integration"

6. Wrex's "distant granddaughter"... Krogan can live for thousands of years, why distant? Did the Krogan even bring any females to Earth?

And inconsistencies aside It simply doesn't sound realistic. Hanar, Volus and Elcor squadmates. Really? It sounds bad enough on paper, but when you think about the animations and such it's just ludicrous to even think that Bioware would do it. They were too lazy to even add female Turian models, do you honestly think they would make combat animations for three new races?

The biggest give away is that there are no human squadmates on the squadmate list, which is something Bioware would never do. In every game nearly 50% of the team has been human, and considering they are the most relatable species (obviously) that's not going to change.

It just sounds like somebody got all of the most ridiculous and controversial ideas they could think of and threw them into one long post to annoy fans.

So yeah, I'm calling big fake.

We all shouldn't be here. We should be replaying ME 3 enjoying every single moment. But no, we are spending our time on thinking whether this c..ool thing is true or not. Thanks Bio, thanks for beautiful endings.

Well, they achieved their main goal, didn't they? Lot of speculation from everyone.
