I've been thinking about this for a bit now, and the more I think about it the faker it sounds. I'm pretty certain now that the whole thing is just an elaborate troll that is (supposedly) from 4-Chan.
First, there are loads of inconsistencies between this, the current ending, and even within the idea itself:
1. It states that Shepard destroys all synthetic life, which means that the "destroy" ending is canon. If this is true then how does he merge with EDI and catalyst? They would have been destroyed as well, and EDI is on the Normandy, which is now nowhere near Shepard.
2. If the destroy ending is canon how did a Reaper survive?
3. How is Shepards Squad supposed to "gather the materials to bring him back" If they crash landed on that planet in the middle of nowhere?
4. How are Squadmates like Liara going to do things like "Rebuild Thessia" with the Relay's destroyed?
5. "Certain species, unable to survive in Sol, make a desperate beeline for distant systems" this would imply the Turians/Quarians, since they cannot consume human food, but under Garrus's bit it talks about "human Turian integration"
6. Wrex's "distant granddaughter"... Krogan can live for thousands of years, why distant? Did the Krogan even bring any females to Earth?
And inconsistencies aside It simply doesn't sound realistic. Hanar Volus and Elcor squadmates. Really? It sounds bad enough on paper, but when you think about the animations and such it's just ludicrous to even think that Bioware would do it. They were too lazy to even add female Turian models, do you honestly think they would make combat animations for three new races?
The biggest give away is that there are no human squadmates on the squadmate list, which is something Bioware would never do. In every game nearly 50% of the team has been human, and considering they are the most relatable species (obviously) that's not going to change.
It just sounds like somebody got all of the most ridiculous and controversial ideas they could think of and threw them into one long post to annoy fans.
So yeah, I'm calling big fake.
It's chocked full of plotholes and terrible ideas? Sounds like Bioware 2012 to me.
Tell me about it.
Normally I'd say that there is no way Bioware could create something so...
bad. But after Mass Effect 3's endings I honesly could see them do it.
That said, even if this was the original plan hopefully the outrage at the endings will give Bioware a taste of the sort of reaction they would get if they actually did this. Needless to say a
lot of people just wouldn't buy it- not with this information out. I know I wouldn't.
I still think (and hope) it's just a fake though.
