what gets me is this.

why would an BIOWARE EX-EMPLOYEE GOTO 4CHAN and say what his/her job was which would then put in all risk a serious court case (only so many "virtual LIGHTNING technician" work and all they do is look for the one they fired).

if i was that technician i would have plastered it into the MAINSTREAM websites not some TROLLING website.

that entire fanfic has so many things wrong its crazy, like for starters

1)- how did the catalyst enter shepards body when hes NOT A CYBORG
2)- how can they fly a reaper when THERES NOT CONTROLS
3)- how the hell can some of the squad be on there HOME PLANETS when theres NO RELAYS
4)- "april 24" is a tuesday only SPECIAL games get this treatment and 9 out of 10 its on xbox only
5)- " a Prothean planet on the edge of Sol" oh i'm sorry but in the ENTIRE ME universe mars was the ONLY planet sol system that had Prothean civilisation.
6)- "Shepard has been found on Earth, but he is badly injured and in a coma. He was
burned badly during atmospheric re-entry, and certain synthetic components of his
brain were shut down. Chakwas is certain that if he ever awakens, it will be in a
vegetative state."
this..........this soooooo how is dr chakwas going to help a body that was cremated in re-entry and able to survive a 1800MPH impact on the ground, not even the replicators from SG1 / SG1:A and SGU can survive re-entry so yeah busted on this part
also brain dead and if he ever recovered he'd be in a vegitative state...eeerrr right brain dead means NO BRAIN FUNCTIONS, vegitative state means SOME brain functions

7)- Though still badly wounded, after the synthetic pieces are installed, Shepard
finally awakens. He makes a speech at the Spacescraper (a piece of the Citadel
that crash landed on Earth along with Shepard, now used as a center of
operations) that ends the Sol War. After that, you get a unique cutscene based
on who you did or did not romance in ME3.

ok so a sol war breaks out, your friends go out and find replacement parts in the sol system , which would be another plot hole since it was cerberus tech that rebuilt him so that means no cerberus tech on earth, AND NOW he went from being a total braindead burnt bit of bacon and suddenly they replace parts of him and then all of a suddent he's all singing all dancing walking talking shepard that making a huge speech that stops a sol war inside the "SPACESCRAPER" which is the remains of the citidel which is now the base of sol sysem command.

so let me get this straight, a huge chunk of the citidel impacts out planet leaving MILLIONS DEAD and the first theng they do is rebuild it into a base of operations which on itself would take YEARS.


you know what i could write a freaking HUGE post about this but for god sake this has even more plot holes than burst bubble wrap.

its an obvious fake and in no way credible in any way, shape or form

also MASS SHIFT, hell no thats just someone who played with NEED FOR SPEED: SHIFT and MASS EFFECT so they just used TWO names of TWO EA games and made up that garbage.

Not DLC, expansion.  Companies are moving away from the term DLC, 'Expansion" sounds bigger and better.  BF3 is releasing three "expansions" this year, essentially they are just map packs, but no one likes to hear map packs.  Expansion is easier on the ears.

It used to be called "expansion" before it was DLC, DLC came to exist because it wasn't big enough to expand on the original game, but could be included in it anyway.

The "terminator" DLC is possible, especially if it has been in development this entire time.  Mass Shift, or ME4 had a date around 2014, which would fit their 2-year schedule.

Terminator is the April 24th DLC. Mass Shift is the 2014 full game. If this is true, of course.

Oh I know all about it, but since the backlash towards DLC has grown over the past year, every one has been tossing around the word "expansion", there really is not a set of rules to go by when adding content to a game, you can pretty much call it what you want.  Now, back in the day "Expansion" did expand upon the game's main story.  Looking at the industry now and how they try and suck out every little dollar possible, I wouldn't put it past them to abuse the term "expansion".

Very true, but a damn shame.  I remember when Everquest 1 came out, expansions carried on huuuuuge parts of the story with over 100+ hours of gameplay. Now days it's just pathetic little money grabs from top executives.

I don't remember a leak from an ex employs.
I assume that every contract even after you quit, force you to be under NDA for month, the repercution can be really painfull (professionaly first because nobody would like to get an employ that have proven to leak project, and legaly because EA is a power house ....)

If the guy wanted to give the leak, he would have remained anonymous until the 24 april, if the DLC appear to be true all the way... then so could be Mass Shift.

I just can't belive someone would risk his life (professionaly, legaly and financialy) over a damn game.
Possibility is still here, but i'll drink those "leak" with a fair amout if salt ...

Can I also mention the fact that if BioWare intended "Mass Shift" (stupid name, btw) to be a third person shooter and action game more than an RPG, why the weird companion choices?

Wouldn't Humans, Turians and the like fair better as companions if you're gearing more towards a third person action game? The casual player is going to see a Volus, Hanar and Elcor and go "LOL, what the hell are those things? Pretty stupid." and really, it IS pretty stupid. Even as a ME fan since the start, I think it's stupid. We all know that those races are pretty much incapable of combat.. well.. Elcor are capable but not THAT capable.

Bottom line, this isn't even a well done fake for that purpose. There's a reason Blasto is a joke, Bubin is a joke and Biotic God Volus is a joke. Because it's funny to think that those races actually have those skills.

Some of it sounds like crap, another part makes sense. Some parts look like wishfull thinking (more control of space travel is something that we asked for a long time) while another just try to annoy us. The only part that makes sense is that he admits its part of the blackboard (i.e. starting point of rethinking the series), remeber that in the begining of ME1 design shepard wasnt even a soldier, and early drafts showed him looking more like a pimped out han solo. I doubt fans will be receptive to the whole replacing the normandy with a reaper(?), and we'll probably end up with the normandy SR3 who'll continue the tradition of being bigger, better and badasser than its predeccesor (maybe even a cruiser, though frigates are more suitable for slick dogfighting space combat). A hanar team member? I don't see that making it to the final cut, even an elcor is a stretch (you've seen how few scenes of them moving there is, because its just dificult to animate and they are alot less agile on the battlefield than humanoids), i'd like to see a volus vangaurd though...
