Seeing Duncan in the fade quest of the broken circle was fine...although in my opinion that seemed like a dream better suited for Alistair since he was much closer to Duncan, and had been a grey warden for longer.
I might have actually stayed...or at least wanted to stay in the fade had my PC's nightmare been geared a little bit more towards who she was as a person besides just a grey warden.

For example, as a human noble, I would have liked my nightmare to be of my family After all, Alistair got his sister, Sten got his barasaad. Just seems like it would have actually made my PC actually contemplate wheither she wanted to leave. Like Sten says "Im not a fool Warden, I know its a dream, but its a good dream".

As for my Mage...well this is the first game actually that I kind of flirted with Cullen a little bit in the circle during origins....and completely decided that my elven mage so had a crush on a human templar...oops she betrayed Jowan and Lily to Irving...guess that makes her a bit hypocritical. Anyways, I so would have liked my fade dream to have something to do with Cullen. Had that been the case, one of my lowsy companions might have actually had to get themselves out of their own mess and come and rescue me for once.

I think that the message to the dream is more on the peace fact. No Darkspawn, no war. I don't know what the ruins are for though.

The PC gets a far better vision later in game, and of good intentions too. I personally liked it, but won't spoil anything for those that didn't reach that point.

I think I know what you are referring to. As a human noble, I really liked that part...as a mage, not so much.

Help! I've been stuck in the fade for about 3 hrs. now with nothing to do, I've kill everything on each of the islands and I think I've found all there is to find. But now I have locked doors baring my way.
Can anyone help me unlock these doors?

From the developers' perspective, it's easier to make the player dream of world peace than it is to make a separate dream scene for each origin.  You run a far greater risk of potentially damaging the players' sense of immersion if you assume how they felt about a given origin, too.  If we had origin-specific dreams, then we'd probably have far more threads featuring complaints like, "My character doesn't care about Jowan; why would she dream about him?"

Consider that they already had to come up with a separate dream sequence for every party member.  Like it or not, there's only so much customization available in a story-driven game.

If you have locked doors barring your way, then you haven't found everything there is to find.

Spoiler explanation:

You need to have found all four alternate forms to see everything there is to see in the Fade sequence.  Specifically, the massive doors require that you have the Golem form to break them open.  At times, you'll have to backtrack a bit to explore areas previously barred to you.

The locked doors must be bashed in golem form.

Have you found the spirit doors when you switch to spirit form yet?

You need the golem form to open the close doors.

I think all origins should have different dreams. I think my city elf would rather dream that she was with her family again, rather than with duncan at a place she's only heard stories of... and yeah, Alistair should've dreamt about Duncan.

[edit] Also, it shouldn't be so obvious that you're in the fade, until you've realized that you're actually dreaming. It feels like they rushed that part, as well as the last battle. Perhaps it could be because they're working hard on their mmorpg, who knows.

Personally I was a little disappointed with Zevran's nightmare. I went to the tower fairly late, so I already knew the story behind his last mission before he came to Ferelden, and I would have expected his nightmare to be about that rather than some lukewarm pseudo-torture scene from back when he became a "full" crow. The mission thing was much more recent, and it had a deep impact on him, so why shouldn't he dream about that?

Also, I rather missed some dialog options after the party's return from the fade. I mean, every one of them was confronted with their own personal nightmare, and I don't even get the chance to ask them about it? It would have been all right to have them refuse to talk about their nightmares, but I would have liked to be at least able to show some curiosity.

I really liked the idea behind the whole Fade interlude, but it feels a bit like wasted potential, which is a pity in an otherwise great game.

No, I get it...it was merely what I myself would have liked. I understand that not everyone feels the same way...and I know what you mean about those complaints...I have that exact same complaint about Jowan when it comes to the ashes quest.

Thanks, to everyone. Turned out I allready had the golem, I'm not used to the RPG game play (My usual games of choice are shooters and driving) so this is all new to me.

I'm hooked on the story and looking foward to whats next.
