Ever since the patch I'm finding the game hangs.  Right at the start screen when I click on the button to head to the menu and then when I go into the Multiplayer can try to search for game it hangs and then disconnects me and then send me back to the main menu to reconnect the the EA servers again.  I can't play any multiplayer at all and it is really frustating the hell out of me.  Any ideas or do I have to wait for fix from Bioware?

I can connect to multiplayer but I can't connect to a game. It just just says "searching for games" endlessly.

finding games work after several tries. This has been since the launch - whats new are these disconnects (at least to me) while searching for games and the drawback to me3 mainpage.

Could be related to a lot more people playing online, but honestly i dont think that neither bioware nor ea will change anything on that.

I'm having the same problem. Every time I try to get into multiplayer since the newest patch it just sends me back to the main menu and tells me to re-connect.

Good to hear I'm not the only one with this problem, at least.

I'm having the same problem since yesterday. I keep getting this error:  "You have lost your connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must connect again to access online features of the title. "

Same problem here. Mine started after installing Rebellion DLC.

You need to get a friend to ask you to join them online in MP.

1. Lots of people are playing and no available hosts to connect to
2. Cannot find games as there are no hosts available because people are not playing
3. People cannot join hosting games

It seems to me 3 is the culprit because simply by hosting a game I could be there for 1hr, which I did, and no one would join because the servers don't recognise you are hosting in the lobby. When searching for games, it just hangs there which tells me im experiencing the same thing as everybody else when trying to connect to matches that many people are actually hosting but cannot find them.

I'm also having the same problem since the patch and DLC download.
It just keeps saying "You have lost your connection to the Mass Effect 3 server. You must connect again to access online features of this title" and then sends me back to the main menu. Otherwise it just says "The Mass Effect 3 server is unavailable at this time. Please try again later".

Please Help.

A workaround posted in the other "MP-doesn't work"-thread did the trick for me...MP now works perfectly :)

Add me (Riot86NRW) in Origin and I can invite you to a MP game...this should solve your problem.

I've never been able to connect to a MP game. I'm always stuck on 'Communicating' and 'Searching for games'.

I'm thinking it's my appartment's internet provider, but theres no way I can get another provider at the moment....And they refuse to fix it.

Could someone try adding me as a friend, or me adding them, then trying to join or be invited to a game?

I've sent you a friend request. I'd greatly appreciate an invite when you get a chance. Nothing else has solved this
issue (losing connection when trying to connect to multiplayer), so this is the last hope I have.

Thanks.

I cannot connect to the ME3 MP anymore. I have downloaded and installed the patch and the rebellion pack yesterday. Everytime i start ME3 via Origin, which works fine, the game connects with the EA Server. When trying to connect to the MP, the loading screen appears, the loading circle keeps spinning around and then i got the message:
"Verbindung zum ME3 Server getrennt. Sie müssen sie wieder herstellen um Zugriff auf die Online-Funktionen zu erhalten", which means "Connection to the ME3 Server was terminated. You have to restore the connection to gain access to online features (functions)" (Sorry for the translation...)

Afterwards, I have to click "ok" and return to the main menu. The connection to the EA-Server is still working.

Any idea how to fix that?

I have been having this problem for over two weeks. One day I was able to connect to multiplayer no problems, Then the next day I couldn't connect any more. When I start the game I get the "Servers unavailable at this time" error, and then I get the " Cannot validate DLC" error. I have tried anything and everything, reinstall/updates/run as admin/firewalls and antivirus down/etc... But it seems to me that whenever I do a check for updates on the game, it downloads nothing but does "Finalizing" for a good minute or so before telling me that the game is up to date. Could it be that the patch is not applying correctly?

I emailed support and they are now telling me that it is my network. but I have a good connection to the internet so I don't quite understand that. Anyone know a way to manually download the game patches for mass effect 3 without using origin?

Note: This started happening on 23 May 2012. I think there was some kind of patch released that day but I can't remember.

THIS POST CONCERNS "CANNOT ACCESS MULTIPLAYER WHATSOEVER"

After testing serval methods I have discovered that the root of this problem lies with the files found locally ( My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3) on the user's computer. The .ini and .config files from previous versions are not compatable with the new DLC or patch.

Steps to rectify the issue:
-Open origin and disable cloud storage for Mass Effect 3 and purge the Cloud Data

-Navigate to C:/Users/[YOUR USERNAME]/My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3

-Cut the /Saves/ Folder (To backup your single player progress and profile) and paste it on the Desktop

-Delete the Mass Effect 3 Folder from My Documents/Bioware folder

-Launch Mass Effect 3 ( All required files will be re-written to the My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3 Folder

-Exit the Game then move the /Saves Folder that you pasted to the desktop back into the /My Documents/Bioware/Mass Effect 3 Folder

-Re-enable Cloud Storage( Optional)

-Launch the Game and if/when propmted select to use the local data and delete the Cloud data.

You should now have access to multiplayer and your single player progress should be intact.

EDIT: This does not fix the lag issue with multi-player itself.
tried playing a few rounds and it was almost unplayable , but I was not
DC'ed.

Did not work. Have yet to be able to connect to a single multiplayer game. Would really appricate it if someone would add me as a friend 'Harlus708' and see if I can get into a game that way.

Sorry to hear your still not getting in. Are you still needing an invite to get in? If so feel free to add me.

Has anyone found a solution for the problem of searching for a match for ages and never finding one? Or is terridol's solution for that problem as well.
