First let me say that I absolutely loved the idea of the combat roll. Saw it in a trailer for the game and it was as good as I though it would be.
Unfortunately this has created a situation in which you have simply too many commands slaved to the same button. Run, Revive, Interact, Combat Roll, Cover, and Vault ALL use the x button.
This has created a state in which the game does not do what the player intends it to do and in many cases gets the player killed. I have lost count of the number of times I've tried to run away from an enemy and gotten stuck on a wall. Or your trying to leave cover and you keep combat rolling to other cover. Or you are trying to revive an ally and find yourself stuck to a wall. And getting your toon to vault an obstacle is nearly impossible this way.
I would propose that you steal (I mean borrow) from other shooter games in this instance. If R3 were run and L3 were cover that would leave x open to interact with objects and revive fallen comrades. The 'objective' button could easily be move to select (as that's not even being used).
This is of course just one possible set up. I personally would prefer if you allowed button mapping in the game so player's could set up the way they want to. But whatever you do I think it is safe to say that the current button layout is cumbersome and akward. Post in this thread if you agree.
