Truuue....but if that was easy there'd be a heck of a lot  less of them.  Plus they do fight back.

Do we even know there is a "limited supply" of demons? Posted Image

Where did I say that there were? Posted Image

You did say, if mages could easily get rid of demons, there would be lot less of demons (unless you meant something else by "them."). That aside, it'd be an interesting question in and of itself: are demons finite in number? If there is no end to demons, any mage is in constant danger of being possessed, no matter what he/she does.

What I meant was that if saying no to a demons temptations was easy then there'd be a lot less abominations.

See, all this relies on the simple fact that mages are of a physical nature that provides the expedient of being locked up.  I think that is a convenience that people take advantage of because they can.  Other potential disasters (fire, flood, drought, hurricane etc) people just figure out whatever precautions they can and deal with it.

True.

A hypothetical of my own:

What solutions do you think people would come up with if imprisoning mages weren't possible for some reason?  If they could teleport or walk through walls and could not be contained.  Would they just be killed outright in fear or would some sort of peaceful co-existance be worked out?

That would be an interesting and a hard question to answer. I don't know what would happen: would the feeling of guilt (at least for most people) override any tendencies toward mass-killing? Perhaps, so my feeling is that they might actually look for a peaceful co-existence. But then again I generally lean toward optimism.

There could be many ways the Architect found the location of Urthemiel.

The higher ranking Grey Wardens are said to know the locations of all the Old Gods. He could have gotten the information out of Utha if she knew. Since the non-awakened darkspawn can still hear the call, he could have easily just followed them and their digging to find a general location of Urthemiel.

Or best of all, sheer dumb luck.

He couldn't have followed the Darkspawn, because the corruption of Urthemiel was supposed to be his doing, and his alone. The Darkspawn couldn't have lead him there. It just seems ridiculous that a Darkspawn would have to go to a Grey Warden to find out where the Old Gods were. I'd imagine he, like all Darkspawn, knew.

Magic is to serve man and never to rule over him stated most holy Andraste as she sent the tevinter imperium into the sea.Anders setting off a magic nuke, killing our most sweet & beloved Grand Cleric Elethina and the rest of the sisters just showed how much those animals deserve their chains. All mages are now enemies of thedas and I will do what must be done!!

Do not hesitate, show NO mercy!!! I will make meredith seem like the easter bunny as I lead legions of templars in a most glorious exalted march.I don't want them back in their towers...O no!! I'm going to purge them, the qunari and the antivans from the face of thedas! Once more the chantry shall hold sway over thedas and we shall...Have peace.

HAHAHAHA.

You know, you remind me of a character in the game Lost Odyssey. There's this one country in the game which is famous for its peaceful nature and acting as a mediator. There's a general to the queen who is constantly working on building his army and is planning an invasion. He justifies it by saying that once they conquer everyone, they can lead the world as the most powerful peace-loving nation, and everyone would have to follow them.

Good sense of humor there.

In my first playthrough as a mage Hawke, I was pretty sympathetic to the mage's cause, even noticing how wrong everyone are. But, playing as a Rogue Hawke, one thing struck me more than a mother zombified, or the first Enchanter turning into a Harvester, or Merrill doing what the Keepeer always told her not to, killing her in the process, or Anders freaking exploding the Chantry and igniting a war: how we are attacked by apostates/abominations every 5 minutes! So I supported the Templars, and now I'm more inclined to see them as the lesser evil.

The devs said they added more enemy mages simply because they thought the game needed more.

I wouldn't blow off the threat of "Titanic", Emzam.  Once that little pipe flute starts a playin and Kate Winslet walks onscreen in the Depression Era garb . . . it's all over but the cryin.
And then, of course, the cryin actually starts.

We can all weep tears of joy once the mage's betrayal has been dealt with :)

Even the mages will be weeping tears...of repentance.

And the templars will be crying in pain before they shed tears of repentence...the ones who aren't decent and want to destroy all mages for the sake of them being mages that is. :wizard:

Those are exactly the type of templars that will be needed in the battle to come not necessarily for their belief but for their resolve.Any templar with sympathies to the magickers is at risk of letting a few slip under my radar. This battle should've happened 500 years ago to be honest. We can't simply let mages live on the off chance that they might not get angry and get possesed by a rage demon. It is for the good of ferelden that they be wiped out not simply for existing but for the threat they represent. ^_^

:innocent: Well then, we'll just have to slip a couple of blood mages under the radar, without using magic, and then use blood magic to nudge certain members of the templars into questioning their orders, or even the commanding officers to think YOU'RE being influenced by blood magic?

Questioning my orders would only get those troops court marshalled...which would lead to less troops...touche

My superiors questioning whether I'm under the influence of blood magic when I clearly know I am not would only make me think they were under the influence of bloodmagic which could only lead to me spitting them upon my blade, getting promoted and enacting tighter restrictions on the ranks as well as a few hundred public mage executions to serve as an example to the genious blood mages. Checkmate ;)

I'm suprised by how many people, on this issue are extremists one way or another. It's either that all mages must be eliminated or made tranquil, or that all non-mages must be bred out of existence. Is there no middle ground? Moderation is the only way this issue can really be solved.

Join me moderates! We shall convert all to our way of thinking! All must choose! Moderation or DEATH! There can be no middle ground about whether or not to stand on the middle ground! Your either with us, meaning you're neither for not against the other two options, or you're against us, meaning that you have a strong opinion one way or another. Join the moderate rebellion! We have nothing to loose but our angst!
