Bought the game yesterday and I have the same problem as well. I haven't gotten into a single multiplayer yet, I'm just stuck on the "searching for games" screen. And I let that screen open for like half an hour.
Tried to disable the firewall. Didn't work. what the hell i going on and why isn't Bioware adressing this?

its an ea server issue not a me3 issue, so its ea who need to fix the problem with the server, which they have a few times but its caused more problems for others

Really? an EA server issue that has been going on for over a month now? What the hell?

I don't let the Quick Search run for longer than 30 seconds. There are times where it will say "Connecting," and I'll even hear people chatting on mics. It's a limbo state, much the same as the lag you get when being dropped into the middle of a match (which usually results in death by the time you get control), Of course, getting the "Connection has been lost to the game" message while still searching is always a WTF moment.
What I tend to do, is if no lobby is found within 30 seconds, is: 1) Cancel the search; 2) Wait 10 seconds; 3) Search again; and 4) Repeat as needed. My best guess is a handshake issue with EA's servers, which isn't that uncommon... when trying to connect via 1200 baud modem. If I were to hazard a guess, it may be that the servers aren't equipped with a smart queuing system that can handle multiple simultaneous connection attempts.

yeah really, alot of battlefield 3 players are having issues similar to the me3 players, which origin is an ea thing not bioware, so it makes sense that if its happening with more than 1 game its a server problem, hence the its ea who fixes it not bioware, bioware devs on the forum just help with reading up on issues and probably inform ea so it can be fixed i'd imagine

The reboot worked for me, but if your problems are more persistent than a reboot, then you should read the stickied Multiplayer problems thread or take it to the tech support forums. Continually bumping this one is not likely to help.

Does anyone have the same problem with the time during 'searching for games'? Usualy it takes forever to find a game, and if ME3 doesn't find one with my specific map or an enemy, it throws another map or enemy at me, usually gold, when I want silver or bronze.
But the time is an issue here. It's pathetic to stare at monitor for 30 seconds...
