I don't have many questions (since they have mostly to do with plotholes, narrative inconsistency, etc. ) but I just want to say thank you for doing this.
ok, maybe one question: Do you know if our voices are not only being heard, but being used to rekindle the ending?

John385 - Thanks for reading. Yes, the plan is to write a new chapter that addresses the fan feedback and how BioWare is responding. It would be a free update. The Portal story was updated with a new chapter on the DLC for free.
So there will be an ending DLC (well some sort or ending related content.) And it will be free?
Btw, I'd like to apologise for the troll accusations. Understand that the BSN is in a very depressed state right now... more than usual :-)
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us.
He is talking about a free update for this app, not the game.

Thanks to him for the answers, but nothing will me make me change my mind.
- I will not buy anything related to ME universe until something is done about the end in ME3.
- In a RPG games, wathever the support, the story is a part, but for the players, their character is the most important one : if not, no need to play a rpg where choices have to be made. You can go watch a movie or read a book : it's clearly less costly, and less time consuming.
- For me there is no closure at all, whatever the choices : because in this end, I'm only a passive spectator... And all I got is some colorfoul video to IMAGINE the fate of my character... Perhaps it's more clear for the designers of the end, but for me not at all... I don't see me imagining 10 differents endings for all my Shepard...
- So, no replay value
- Too much plotholes or missing explanations/hints
Thanks again,
JPR

How do we know this guy is legit? I mean, can someone prove to me he is really him?
You mean besides the five times that people have reposted Chris' response showing he is legit.....or the link to Geoff's Twitter where he says he is in here talking with everyone?
And please don't use the "I didn't want to go through X many pages for the answer" excuse. If you wanted to know badly enough that he was legit, you could have done a minimal amount of searching in the thread to find the answer to that.

I can confirm that this is Geoff Keighley and I am very pleased that he's taking some time out of his busy schedule to talk with us here on the BSN.
Everyone play nice and be respectful. Treat him as well as you'd treat me.
No wait. Treat him much better than that.
Thanks Geoff. Welcome to the BSN.

BoneNinja - Thanks, I hope you enjoy the app.
Saku39 - Are you serious? Create "real life consequences" for whoever wrote the ending? You may not like how the game ended, but like any form of creative expression we have to respect the artists behind the game....and all the amazing work they did on the series overall.
Dr_Hello - No the app is not free. It is $2.99
Reptilian Rob - The goal of the app wasn't to depress you. I'm sad to hear you feel that way, as the vast majority of the app deals with things other than the ending of Mass Effect.
Sully_47 -- My update to Final Hours is TBD in terms of release time. I need to talk with Casey and the team first and understand more about their plans.
bboynexus - Not a lot of differences in my approach to ME3 and Portal 2. Portal 2 was a bit tougher to pull together because it was the first app on iPad, so I had to work a lot on the interface and format of the information. But at the same time Mass Effect is a much bigger series as I had to cover all 3 games.
jcmccorm -- To be honest every game is "running late." I've never been around a developer where the game is done early. (Well once: Halo 3 ODST was done about 6 months before it was released). BioWare was rushing on Mass Effect 3 but EVERY developer is in a similar situation.
King Espi - I hope this isn't a real question. The notebook page from Mac was not Photoshopped.
Ghost of a Messiah - I don't know when/if BioWare will comment on the indoctrination theory. Sorry!
AtreiyaN7 - Good catch, thank you! We will get that fixed. I really like the Mordin arc and also the Tali arc in ME3.
Orange Tee - Mac's piece of paper was an early brainstorm document as I understand it. I think we have to respect that he shared this piece of paper with us and give him a chance to explain the creative process before jumping to conclusions.
Orxnge - I doubt it will be coming to iPhone/iPod unfortunately. If you have a kindle reader on iPhone/iPod you can download the text from the Kindle Store.
Vorodill - I hope to talk with the writers for the updated chapter, yes.
Darthlawsuit - I don't know the answer to this but I will ask the team.
Tehzim - I don't know enough about the DLC process to answer your question. I certainly hope BioWare doesn't completely redo the ending.
sammysoso - Yes, Casey, Mac and I talked about the ending. They wanted this to be a story of sacrifice.
Bakakenny-- Sorry you are having technical trouble. I'm not sure why the videos won't work. Do you have the latest version of Flash installed too?

Mr Heatsink -- The app is also available for PC/Mac. No, I won't be rewriting the story...just adding to it. I wanted to write a story that celebrated the amazing ideas and creativity in Mass Effect, and highlighted some of the people behind the game.

In this particular situation, how much of a hit did the game's ending take?GeoffKeighley wrote...

I'm not asking you to defend the ending or anything like that, so please don't get me wrong.
Instead, I am asking, again, did you learn anything at Bioware that (a) helped YOU understand the finale, but that (

Was it the writers' intention that the ending be shortened and phrased in metaphors (i.e. conversation with Starchild) that reflect upon all the conflicts and issues in the Mass Effect universe, including not just the Quarians and the Geth, but also the Krogans and Salarians, the Rachni and the rest of the galaxy, etc.?
Thanks again!

So instead I just want to thank you for all the final hours articles (and now apps) over the years, especially the HL1&2 ones years ago. I hope you keep writing them and hopefully developers continue to give you behind the scenes material despite what happened with an image of a single sheet of paper in this latest one.

I just got the app and really enjoyed it. My question is regarding the interactive element that places an original version of scene next to final version of the same scene. In one of the scenes there is extra content that shows your two companions being killed by a reaper beam, but in the "Final Version" it merely shows there dead bodies after you wake up. However, the dead bodies did not make it into the final version that I played. I was wondering if you new anything about this change.

Still curious how much thought went into the ending, in regards of continuity, and it fitting in with the rest of the plot. Seems to me, the ending focused heavily on it just being an ending and trying to achieve certain artistic results by the creators.
Not sure if you know, but just curious if Mac and Casey ever considered how the ending would reflect plot from ME1 for instance (still scratching my head about the Catalyst being the power of the Citadel and yet..needing Saren and Sovereign to open up relay for the Reapers).
