Guys, do you really have harass the guy? He came here, probably knowing he was gonna be slammed, to answer questions relating to the app.

Not sure if he's even still here, but I'll bite. How long was the app actually being planned? Was it a running process with the game's developers, or was it just kind of a last minute thing?

I think it's a great idea...you get a good look into the developers creative processes (regardless of how I feel about the ending lol).

GEOFF KEIGHLEY,

Did you get a sense that the ending was sort of rushed in any way? Also, is there any truth to the rumor that the ending was a product of work done solely by Casey Hudson and Mac Walters by themselves?

P.S. -- Welcome.  Apologies for the initial distrust, but, this is the internetz.

First off, thanks for joining us here on the forums, let's hope the trolling has died down now someone has actually linked to your twitter.

As you may have guessed, you're really only going to have questions about the ending brought forward. I don't plan to buck that trend.

Was the script peer reviewed? Not really but kind of absolutely talking about the final mission here. There isn't any indication that they had some sort of editor take a red pen to it and tell them about its problems. Did the whole writing team have a hand in it or was it solely the work of only a couple of people?

Was any indication given to you that the team expected a negative backlash?

How many people were working on this app and how long did it take? Were you there early on in the development process?

Proof?

Final Hours of Mass Effect 3 documentary.

I watch'd it, didn't see anything saying the theory isn't a possibility.

To be fair, its not like they were going to come out and say "yes the indoctination theory is true" or false for that matter. It would kind of go against the whole "lots of speculation" theme.

Hey Geoff, if you're still around, I want to say thanks for taking the time to answer stuff despite some.. rather unpleasant people.

Anyway, I was wondering what you, personally, think of the indoctrination theory? With all the subtle signs throughout the game, do you think it's possible that it may be fact?

Thanks again!

So Geoff, did people scare you off. or is this a shameless plug for advertising your app by coming in, saying who you are, answering like 3 questions and then bouncing?

Not sure if he's gonna come back, but I've gotta ask the question I'm sure everyone is wondering about. I'm not sure if you can or will answer this (for whatever reason), and I understand if you choose not to or can't answer, but...

What is your opinion of the ending? I think it'd be great to get some personal insight from you. You don't have to tell us anything important, but if you liked the ending and felt it was entirely satisfying, then I probably missed something. What I mean is, after spending time with the developers and writers and gaining their perspectives, maybe you have a better understanding than we do.

Once again, thanks for coming on.

Unfortunately the net's made us all super cautious, so the momentum sorta tripped and fell. One of those spiffy "bioware" graphics on the forum title could qwell a lot of the doubt.

I just had one question, hopefully this is within your realm of expertise. I've worked at large companies before where the animation groups, writing groups, they were all separated and no one knew what the others were working on...much like Cerberus, now that I think about it! Only the marketers knew the full story at any given time, more or less. From my experience this started out as a way to curb IP leaks to the internet: people worked on a need to know basis. Was that what the office was like during your filming? Were the cinema scenes animated and rendered in house or outsourced?

Many thanks for coming by.

Hey Geoff, thanks for coming by here. I got a big kick out of the app, especially the production. Thanks for making it available on PC, btw. Only (relatively minor) gripes is that I wish it focused even more on the sole ME development and behind-the-scenes stuff of the series itself and less on the devs, but I understand you probably wanted a human element to your piece. I really hated the ending to ME 3, but seeing what Casey Hudson is like and getting background on him and finding out how much ME is his baby definitely made me feel empathy for what the ending reaction fallout has probably been like for him. Anyway, I highly recommend the app and was more than happy to pay the measly $3 for it. So thanks for your work.

PS. Retroactive kudos for your appearance on that horrible "Sex Box" Fox News segment. You did ME fans--and videogame fans in general--proud that day

Not keen on AIR but enjoyed the app nevertheless. Looking forward to the next 'episode'.

Thanks for stopping by and apologies for the low-life trolls. It's what they do, disrupt sensible conversation & debate.

Hey Geoff,

I haven't purchased the app yet but might soon, especially since you intend to add an update including the fan reactions. It's also great to see you show up here (I hope you haven't been scared away yet):

First question is somewhat related to the ending but more about its production process than its content:

How important was the November script leak for the ending as we got it (I've read the leaked script and found the changes to be of a minor nature, even if I thought the lines cut would have made a difference for the better?

Secondly: Were there fears about negative fan reactions on certain aspects of the game (generally, not on the ending specifically)?

Last question: Was there any aspect of the game that you feel the developers were especially proud of?

Addition to my previous post:

Thanks in advance! And I thought of another question: Can I run your app under Linux?

Sadly that's going to turn into "Retake's a Bunch of Occupy Hooligans" in the gamer mag headlines instead of "Miracle: Someone Doesn't Lie on the Internet."
