John385 - Thanks for reading. Yes, the plan is to write a new chapter that addresses the fan feedback and how BioWare is responding. It would be a free update. The Portal story was updated with a new chapter on the DLC for free.

I wonder how many people are reading the words "author of the Final Hours of Mass Effect 3" and interpreting it as "wrote the ending to Mass Effect 3."

Additionally, I wonder how many people interpreted "the plan is to write a new chapter that addresses the fan feedback... it would be a free update" as "we at Bioware are going to write a new chapter in Mass Effect 3 that adresses fan feedback. This DLC will be free to all players."

I haven't seen Final App so I don't know entirely what's in it but in regards to the ending was there ever any discussion about the War assets playing a bigger role (in terms of dialogue and possibly cut scenes or other decisions) or was the shape of the level itself mostly finished by that time.

Who wrote the ending and what was the explanation given as to why it wasn't put through a peer review like the rest of the game?

When was the Final hours of Mass Effect 3 created? Was it made while the devs were finishing uo the game or was it earlier?

Thanks for taking the time to answer our questions.

wow, props to geoff, really I thought this was just someone faning the flames, but sinces its the real deal, we do appreciate you coming in and making an appearance. While I have yet to get the app, it has caused quite a bit of contraverey around here.

I am curious about your take on the ending and your thoughts based on your interaction with the Bioware team.

Was the ending decided on early in development, or was it one of the last things they worked on before release?

I was on the edge deciding whether to purchase this or not, but with the update about the customer feedback, I'm sold. I'm a sucker for seeing how development works.

How do you feel about the human reaper and its relevance to Mass effect 3?

Thank you for doing this. If you can, could you tell us if all of this reaction is valid? Are we not asking questions and pointing out things in the game that to a reasonable person would be acceptable to ask about? Or are we collectively missing the point about what Bioware was trying to do with the ending, or the series as a whole? Thanks again.

Given the generally negative reaction to the ending and the use of the "Speculation from everybody" pic as a rallying cry, do you think that developers will be less likely to give you access in the future?

I think it shows great confidence in the product personally but at the risk of a PR fiasco.

The story was great, but some revelations are best left unknown.

Hi Geoff

I haven't seen the app, could you describe what it actually is? I get the impression it is just a behind the scenes look at some of the devlopment process, is that correct? It wasn't originally inteded to be an ongoing excercise with more content being released over time was it?

Geoff, your coverage of Portal 2 was much more in depth than ME3. Is this just a case of Valve being more "transparent" than Bioware?

P.S. Welcome to BSN and thank you so much for taking the time to come here for Bioware's fans.

Mr. Keighley,

While your app provides a report on the final hours of the game, it does not really give too much insight as to your personal impressions at all. As someone who deeply follows the gaming industry: What is your perspective on the broader question that is being brought up due to the ending debacle?

Many gamers and developers keep striving to turn games into an acceptable art form. Yet, no other art form provides this level of creativity and sense of player/viewer ownership. While I've heard the arguments on either side of the 'yes/no' debate on the endings themselves, I wish to ask a more pointed question on this matter.

Do you believe there is a middle ground for 'co-development' or even revisionism development, as what is being asked by the players here? And if so, is there a common limit line to be drawn here, or will this forever be a case-by-case basis?

Do you think the fan outrage at Mass Effect 3 has been justified, and if so, do you think the Retake Movement is a good thing for the gaming industry?

Sorry, not willing to pay $2.99 for it.

Hold The Line!

Pay to learn how they did the worst final 10 minutes in the history of video games, to conclude one of the most brilliant games ever? Nah, thanks!

I'd like to echo many others here by asking if you know whether or not the ending of the game was peer-reviewed in a similar fashion to the rest of the game.

Personally I think people should stop trying to pigeon hole him into taking sides and just ask questions about his work on the application and story.
