Did you guys even play the bloody game? The mole was Udina.

Jesus christ, no wonder Bioware is getting backlash by the community, it doesn't seem to have actually played any of their games.

Very well, so Udina gave Cerberus intel in order to weaken allied forces that he wanted to send to liberate Earth. Very logical.
Also, even with Udina as a mole how they sneak past salarian navy to their homeworld? Sur'Kesh is a bloody salarian capital! Salarians boast finest intelligence in the galaxy.

Very well, so Udina gave Cerberus Intel in order to gain strength and power in the Citadel and on the Council, and eliminate the Shepard threat, and leave Cerberus to deal with the Reaper Threat, because Shepard and the CO. was a risky-shot to pull it all off.  Very logical.

For you maybe.

I reckon it was Dr. Chakwas. According to the Cerberus reaper recovery centre videos how the hell does The Illusive Man know Dr.Chakwas likes serrice Ice brandy '47.

Very suspicious.

That would be a bottle of Thessia Red, but close enough.

Udina is the most likely, but there's a good chance that there's still a Cerberus bug on board, or in Shep's implants. Or heck, maybe TIM can monitor all communications using the QEC -- it did have a link to him in the past, after all.

I assumed Traynor would turn out to be a Cerberus spy from the moment I overheard this conversation about a toothbrush-explosion-device on the Citadel.
Well... I guess I did her wrong.

I missed the Salarian dialogue on Sur'Kesh on my first run through so after the little exchange between EDI and Traynor before Traynor leads you to Kai Leng had me suspecting her. EDI knew she was a Cerberus agent which is why she wanted to keep her on board (better a spy you know than one you don't), that's why she isn't at all surprised to learn that EDI is in fact an AI, that's why Cerberus always knew where you were going to be (she's right next to the Galaxy Map), that's how she knew something was up at Grissom, and that's why she's so eager to earn your trust.

Paranoia's fun isn't it.

I thought it was pretty obvious that it was Udina and the game just didn't need to hold your hand and spell it out for you.

Apparently it DID need to.

The "mole" on Normandy is EDI as a result of "Project Eva" to regain control of EDI set in place by the Illusive Man and enacted following/during the mission on Mars when EDI integrates with the Eva body. Everywhere you go in the game and all of the "assistance" (direction) by EDI is probably overshadowed by the Illusive Mans/Cerberus interests.

Cerberus shows up at the most opportune times and tracks all of your movements throughout the game as a result. Know why EDI hangs out at the Presidium Commons on downtime before the Citadel is attacked (Also happening to be one of the routes you take during Priority:Citadel to get to the council tower elevators yourself)? Probably scouting out weak points through the Citadel for the Cerberus assault and to get the council after taking over c-sec.

I figured it was obvious who the mole was: Marauder Shields.

He tried to save you from reaching the Citadel and meeting the "Starchild", not just once, but throughout the ENTIRE GAME!

I've only done one playthrough so my memory is fuzzy. But who or WHAT was spying on your first meeting with Wrex, victus and the female salarian? There was a scene of something fast looking in on the meeting without you seeing what it was.  Can someone explain what that was about?

*edit*

FOUND IT!

Here's the salarian mole

2:48

That was Mordin recording the females and sending the info on directly to Wrex or passing it along thru Liara and she forwared the info to Wrex.

I like this theory, but the Illusive Man and Cerebus knew Shepard was going to Mars.  This was before EDI integrated herself with Dr. EVA.  How would you explain that?

He didn't know Shepard would be there. He sent Eva there because he heard about the archives. He didn't know Shepard was there until he saw him.

I assumed the Salarian Dalatrass did it for the purpose of stopping the Krogans.

I didn't think it was her at first but then my wife told me it was totally her, my wife is always right.

I could've sworn I heard it elsewhere too. You think the Dalatrass would really call Cerberus to come to and STG base on Sur'Kesh? Seems extreme. *Shrug*

Doesn't seem extreme at all, with her telling you to basically commit a race to exinction.

Would not suprise me at all.

Yeah, early in the planning stages we were going to have a sub plot where a sabeteur was on board the Normandy, and Shepard would have to choose which engineer would could into the engine core and save the day, most likely dieing in the process.  That plot never saw the light of day, since I didn't have time to write it or script it and cinematic design wouldn't have had time to do the scenes, but we did have the dialog hooks in place for a dead Adams/Donnelly/Daniels/Tali in other banter.  Those lines will just never fire.

Likely confirmation that there was originally a plan for there to be a mole/sabateur aboard the Normandy, but was cut.
Sorry guys :(

It always seemed obvious to me that it was Udina. He was the highest political human left alive.
Then when Udina took a bullet to the knee, I assumed the sidemissions about Cerberus spies and hacking programs on the citadel were foreshadowing how they were getting their info.

Why do they cut some of the best stuff? Surely you cut out bad things. Like things that don't make sense. You know, like THE ENDING. :pinched:

I always figured Sur'Kesh was a coincidence.

Perhaps Cerberus sources picked up on the signal from Mordin to Wrex/Wreave? Perhaps they knew it all along and wanted to stop the Krogans?

Or perhaps that this is, more likely; just a plothole.

On Sur'kesh if you listen to the ambient conversations, a Salarian is telling another Salarian of an outbound comm traffic with scrambled coding and no signature. This outbound comm traffic occured twenty minutes ago. Someone from within STG sent it out shortly before Cerberus Arrived...

There's also another Salarian who is arguing with his superior, saying "But they're going to cure the genophage! They're going to undo everything we've done!"

Haven't personally confirmed the second convo, but unless my memory has gone totally haywire, I recall the first part about the transmission.

So, in reality it's probably nothing so dramatic as Udina or the Dalatrass. This whole topic is the problem with speculation, it's usually incredibly wrong. \\o/

Probably, Cerberus is hacking/Spying on communications with Reaper tech or something.

If there is a agent working for them on the Normandy then it is Cortez.

That's nice to know, but I'm not sure if it's totally relevant to what I was saying.
