I have 'The Stone Warden' installed and have been playing with it for a few days with no problems. However, when i loaded up the game today, i am unable to resume any saved game because the DLC is now showing as unauthorised, even though i am logged in. I have tried searching for a solution, but the search engine on this site is not showing any results. Please could someone explain why my DLC is now unauthorised?

The content was installed correctly as i have been playing with it for the last few days. Nothing has changed since my last save game other than me turning off my PC last night and then turning it back on today.... It is really annoying that i cannot play the game at all thanks to a problem with DLC that worked fine yesterday. (apologies for anger!)

I am experiencing the same problem. All my DLC's are unauthorized to use. Like the OP, nothing has changed since my last save game (Circle Tower).

I noticed that its only the stone warden that is now unauthorised, the lucky stone DLC is not showing an unauthorised warning even though both are redeemed on the same account...

I have restarted my game and relogin to the server. Now, everything is back except for Stone Prisoner and Wardens Keep, two important DLC's. I guess we just have to wait for them to fix/confirm/do something/etc.

I had that before too, but it fixed it self with a restart of the game.

Well i've tried everything i can think of now, rebooting, relogging etc... I have contacted EA support but i dont expect a reply any time soon. The really annoying thing is ALL of my save games use 'The Stone Warden' and so i cant play anything until this issue is resolved except for starting a new character.

It's obviously affected a few people, so why is there no update from the devs? Do they even read this forum?

Click on start. Type in services.msc and hit enter. Scroll down untill you see Dragon Age Origins. Righ click on it and choose properties. Change start up type to automatic and then click on start. Apply and close. It shoud work for you then.

Thanks, but already had to do that in order to get the DLC in the first place. I have since gone back to services.msc to check its still set to automatic, and it still is. Im currentlt in the queue to talk to an EA support person...

Even if the content updater is set to automatic, the game can turn it off when you exit. I think the the intended usage is that the game starts when its launched and stops it when you exit, so its not running all the time.

I find that I often just have to go and restart it to get my DLC to work.  For examples, I just exited the game.  When I go to the services list and just look at the services list the DA:O Content Updater says its started and Automatic.  But if I click on it its actually stopped and needs to be started again.

This may or may not be related, but just yesterday I saw that the My Games link to the left changed - it used to show Dragon Age for all gaming platforms and a section for patches, but now when I go to it, it only shows the link to register the game. I entered my serial number for my version (PC) and now it's "registered" again. Maybe the DLCs not working are a result of needing to register your game again.

It was happening before, this is a result of new page built (released 30th Nov), now it only shows games you have reggistred.

That is completely unrelated - registering cdkeys on this site has no impact on the game.

Well ive just finished chatting to EA support and the result is i need to uninstall and reinstall to see if that fixes it. I'm surprised they didnt ask me to try turning the PC off and on again... You can imagine how grateful i was for their advise. I am seriously annoyed with the whole validation system preventing me (a paying customer) from playing the game, while all those pirates out there enjoy themselves. Colour me disgruntled.

Word of note - Automatic NEVER seems to work with this machine - I had to set it to be on, period - and when it won't load it for some bizarre reason, I have had to reboot to get it to go.

 My Documents->BioWare->Dragon Age->Settings->AddInns.xml
Make a backup of it, then open the original file with notepad and search for RequiresAuthorization="1", change all "1" to "0". I have no idea if this will work for you, but it seems for me it stopped showing message about unauthorized Shale, which I had to fix each freaking time by logging off and on again.

Thanks Nirvax. That worked for me when nothing else would. I'll keep checking back to the forums to see if they resolve it and if so revert to normal file but til then at least i can play.

Exact same problem here. Save game and DLC content was working fine, today it was suddenly unauthorised and no amount of logging in/out would authorise it.

I have this problem just about everytime I try to run the game after a reboot of my computer. What I do is what somebody already mentioned in this thread. I Type services.msc in the "run" field. Then scroll down to the dragon age updater. I havent tried having it set to automatic. But after I click start andf the updater is finished. Its no longer unauthorized. It fixes it every time. If you havent tried this I suggest you do, as apparently the automatic thing doesnt seem to work.

So,,, instead of telling us what the problem ISN'T could you give us a hint on what the issue IS?

Oddly enough, I haven't had this problem, but when I started the game today, it gave me a new Terms of Service agreement, and flashed by some downloaded update so quickly I couldn't tell what it was, then said new content had been downloaded, and restarted the game. Time will tell now if I have this new bug. Anyone else noticed if this has been before/after a content update on your computers as well?

I got the new Terms of Service this morning, but didn't notice anything updating. I've been dealing with Unauthorized DLC issue since I first installed on the 6th, so its likely unrelated.
