I just noticed something in the scene where Shepherd gets their Spectre status back.

When their Omnitool lights up, it's on the LEFT arm.

But whenever the Omniblade unfolds, it's on the RIGHT arm.

Isn't the Omniblade part of the Omnitool?

Or is Shepherd carrying 2 Omnitools, one for computing/hacking and the other for stabbing Cerberus troops?

With the Engineer, some powers are used with the right arm and others are used with the left.

The Engineer melee consists of two omnitools so it's possible that Shepard has two of them.

The Sentinel heavy melee has omniblades on both arms, so probably has two, or the interface can be made to appear on either arm.

Omni-tools are simply impants within the user, and generates a hologram to allow the user to interface with the actual omni-tool. This means that the user can generate the hologram at will, on whichever arm that they desire.

Sentinel? Engineer? What are those?
My Shepherd is Soldier and only has the one Omniblade/Omnitool!
I don't pay much attention, but it seems whenever my Shepherd unlocks a door by Hacking it, they place their RIGHT hand on the lock.

I don't see them using their left hand much or at all for the Omnitool.

So, I assumed the Omnitool was only on one hand, not both.

An older topic of mine speculated that the Omnitool is not an implant at all, but a glove worn under clothing or armor.
I'm assuming there's no reason why you couldn't have a left one as well as a right one, but under normal circumstances, people only seem to wear one.

When you hack a door, you place the left arm on it. If you need to know what am omnitool is in detail, refer to the codex =) This isn't the first time such a thing happens in the series. In Mass 2, some characters had double omnitools (like Maelon) and inverted animation often resulted in flipping the interface from one arm to the other. Not a big deal if you ask me.
