Personally, I'm kind of hoping they (mostly) table the Darkspawn stuff for DA3 and get more into the Elves and Dwarves (and other stuff too) in order to set up for a big huge spectacular Darkspawn Reveal in game 4. But who knows what the plan is at this stage.

I think the point of Da3 is to finally end the darkspawn threat and the templar/mage war.
So they should bring closure to the darkspawn mystery.

Any character that does something like that works well in an RPG in my opinion.

Exactly! However I´m not sure if the Architect or Corypheus really fits into the Mages vers. Templars conflict.

Doesn't change the fact that hes a significant character, like Corypheus.
With the difference that Corypheus is alive in any scenario, whereas the Architect is suffering from a case of death in my game.
Also, why can't the Dragon Age series move past the Darkspawn? We finished the Blight, they're done.

if you say: Corypheus .. now you are talking! why? because NOBODY really destroyed him, he is either in a female body or male body but is ALIVE..

As for Cole... Am I the only one found even reading about him annoying? Although awsome ending does make up for it...
Speaking of - Asunder has a great ending. That's something. But David Gaider does not equals Bioware.

Are you kidding? The Architect and Corypheus are like the pure distillation of the MvT conflict, because they're (possibly) among the ancient Tevinter Magisters who almost ended the world with their blood magic. The Archdemons seem more like distractions. Yeah, they're nasty and destructive and all that, but in the end they seem as indiscriminate as forces of nature. (Plus the fact that there are only, what, 2 of them left?) The ancient mages though--they make plans. They do experiments. They have *goals*.
This is a problem.

Bit of a corpse mate, guess he could get better but its not exactly a common thing to recover from a mild case of death.
The Archdemons do it. Cory did it. According to Riordan the *only* way to kill one of these things is for a Gray Warden to destroy their soul and the soul of the enemy at the same time--and it may not even be possible for current Gray Wardens because they only share corruption with the Archdemon, *not* with the Original Darkspawn.
Or, maybe, it's possible to purify the corrupt soul and produce an Old God Baby. Maybe.
We shall see.

Have you read the novel DA: Asunder? IMO those events will set the stage for the conflict no Darkspawn involvement needed. To me the Architect and Corypheus are autonomic. We’ve got already enough loose ends to deal with.

True, but even with the Blight over the darkspawn still hold significance over many mysteries that have still yet to be answered, especially with the remaining Old Gods and the Taint.

The architec is a humanoid creature with a bit of brain mass, Corypheus IF what varric said is true and he was one of the magisters of old.. He may or may not know how merril's mirror works without the demons .. thats a BIG problem think about it, any mage who wants power either to be free or to free himself of the Qunary/templars or just because they are EVIL will want to side with Corypheus.. To a monster like the architec not one with a brain will want to side with him.. why? the architec is a darpawn that mean it carries the plague and he eat people.
