How much EMS do I need to get red, without destroying the entire cookie?

Brrrr.... The letter is well written in French, but it's when I see stuff like Augure and L'homme Trouble (seriously, wtf translation here for Harbinger and The Illusive Man....) that I steer clear of French translations in gaming...

My Quebec French is litterally screaming blue murder there...

And what about moissoneurs for reapers ? " faucheurs " carry exaclty the meaning of harvester / death  of reapers, while moissoneurs is too much weighted in argricultural (farm) harvesting.

Nope... Not even Faucheurs.. (though that would have been the correct translation) it's moissonneurs...

So yea... Harversters...

Whoever did the translation in French dropped the ball seriously there... Moissonneurs... it's not even a scary name... It's about harvesting the land...  Faucheurs has this sense as well, but it also shares the traditionnal view of Death reaping you at the prime of your age. Straight from the Black Death Era...

I'm actually sad to see that translation as a native french speaker used to play english games.

Good to see the French as well. You're not alone in hating Bioware's sh**fu** of an ending.

Hello everyone,

We are french and we want to join your community in the polemical opposition about the Mass Effect 3's Ending.
First, i'm trully sorry if my english is bad, i hope to put it clearly;)
On the french Bioware social network, many of us begin to write a « letter » meant to the team in charge of the following dlc contents.

Just a few comments from an ignorant American:

1) Wow, more nations support changing the endings of ME3 than supported going to war with Iraq. I mean, and just to play off some stereotypes here, but when you can get Americans, Canadians, English, and French to agree 100% on something, you've either come up with a great idea or you've done something horribly wrong.

2) Bioware is in Canada and as such someone should know French

3) Being a huge fan of French cinema and philosophy, if any culture would like the endings I predicted it would be the French. The only reason is that it's deconstructed (Derrida) and bleak. Yet, I've been looking over at French sites and I'm noticing that even the French hate the endings. Yet another reason to love the French.

Alas, I wish I could help you, but I usually use a mixture of my bad understanding of French and the help of translation sites.

Either way, your post is awesome.

Dude... Trust me, it's not because Bioware is in Canada that they'll have someone around knowing French...

Sad thing indeed... In some parts, you'd have more chance having someone know Mandarin than French...

How sad. Then again, I live in America and we're pretty adament about not wanting to speak Spanish (which is stupid that we are willfully so ignorant). French is next on my list of langauges to learn (well, at least to read fluently).

That being said, I picked out some interesting arguments (again, via my own broken understanding of French and the help of translation websites) the letter has. First off, the letter is one of the most respectful things I've ever seen. Secondly, every single complaint is the exact same thing that we've seen here in the English forums.

It seems crappy endings is a universal language.

As you said moissoneurs is not scary at all.
