i'm having that disc 1 read error, and so far NOTHING WORKS. i cleared the corrupted avatar stuff,cleared my system
cache,removed and reinserted my hard drive,and cleaned the disk three times; IT'S EXTREMELY ANNOYING.
any other fixes?

Having the same problem now, game is installed, already done one playthrough and now on my 2nd playthrough I can't enter the elevator on Sur'kesh (female krogan rescue mission).
Getting "disk unreadable" all the time. Already deleted 4 corrupted avatar items, but problem persists
Any help is much appreciated.
EDIT:
Issue resolved (I hope, I think...)
After downloading from Ashes again and deleting the Mass Effect Demo I could proceed without the error. Don't sure which of the two resolved the problem. I suspect deleting the Demo, after all the same mission is part of the demo and I've read reports of a "disc unreadable"-problem with the demo.

I've been having issues in multiplayer. Get up to the high waves, and bam. Unreadable. It's getting extremely annoying when I can't play. Cost me quite a few credits last night.
