I have bought just about every bioware game, and I think this is the last. I cant hand in quests properly, I am now missing soldiers peak and almost half my best gear. All because of your anti-piracy attempts. While I write this my co-worker who pirated the game suffers none of this. So who is left to pay for this? The paying customer. Im not the only one who had this issue either, I checked online and there are quite a few. I have to say this is very disappointing, coming from a good game company.

I'm not being snarky, but how exactly are you missing it? Does it show you have no downloaded content or does it show that it's diabled or not available?

If you somehow cannot connect to the server (i.e problems @ home, of problems @ EA) the DLC gets disabled and there I assume also all items dissapear from your inventory. A very bad design chose and hopefully something will be done against this. (also because the DLC is already pirated available, sadly)

EA should learn from games like Spore that people will find a way to pirate and that only the paying customer suffers the most from anti-piracy. From SecuROM to limited activations...EA has tried them all and they fail every single time usually before the game is even released.

I'm courious,...

I have experienced absolutely no issue (knock on wood) at all with the game or DLC.

So I wonder how many of the ones that are having these issue have

* tried to use unofficial patches

* included any type of mods

* have tried to use the "Respec" mod

* tried there own alterations via the toolset

* had used the toolset before finishing the game.

I have done none of these, nor have I tried to update it - it is strictly "out of the box". So I just wonder if any of the above is causing these issues. Also, there seems to be a lot of this from those that purchased the download version instead of a hard copy.

I'm just looking for common ground here that might help Bioware pinpoint the problem. For example, if everyone with these issues are patched to 1.01b then that give Bioware a place to start.

I do agree with you - BUT, having some form of prevention does deter that "would be thief". Several studies have shown that, while not eliminating piracy, it does help keep it under control. Basically saying, a Lock is only to keep an Honest man honest.

My int connection was off and on due to a storm here, and I was playing Dragonage when it went down. I didnt notice that I had lost my equip as I was flipping back and forth and before i knew what was happening the game autosaved and there you have it. No mor star fang or master runes, or dragon bone staff or armor for Allister.

It doesnt take a genius to take a quick look on google and find a torrent for the dlc and the game itself. The anti piracy campaign is a waste of time, and in my opinion one of the key factors in declining pc gaming. Fans buy games they like, others will steal it, there is no fool proof way around it. All things like this do is make a company lose fans, and sales in the future. If their quality of games is going to stay this way, then count me out for mass effect 2 and the mmo.

I'm not positive, but I think for the DLC stuff to work you must be logged in - I assume though you have looked for it after being able to log back in?

You can play it without being logged in as long as the updater is started (even with no internet connection.). Thats what my previous post was giving directions for, sadly it didn't work for the OP.

Hello everyone,

Just so you know, it's fine that you complain here and all, but you also need to call them, send emails etc... don't stop here!

i don't have those problems, using Steam and it's fine till now...

Same issue. Good point about the validating the dlc. At least that narrows down the problem.

I thought it was something to do w/ data corruption, but I think you're spot on about the validation b/c I often get a popup about being unable to connect to the database.

Thanks a lot.. I've tried everything, except this. This totally works, if anyone else has the same issue. You are my hero, or my boyfriend's who no longer need to hear my long words not appropriate for children, or anybody ;p
