Means ya gotta wait until enemies start to spread out. Snipers can just start immediately.

No I don't. 
I just run at the chunk of enemies and start to rip them appart, being in their face better than a vanguard. Only they take a glipse of me while I brake out of cloak on the other side of the room, before I do that again in 4 sec.

Claymore + dmg mod + shredder mod, even in gold I score me many tripple kills, guardians included.
I am pretty sure its the highest single shot weapon the game has to off after the rocket, and you do not have to worry about shields soaking up the shot.

But it means that you relly on enemies being bunched together. Also of course I don't have to worry about shields, or armor or barriers.

I solo gold with Graal SI. The only difference is, it takes me a lot less time.

I don't have Black Widow and my poor ol' regular Widow is sitting at level 1, so I don't use them on my Infiltrator. I do, however, have a level 10 Claymore and level 5 high calibre barrel & smart choke. Firing it cloaked strips half a Geth Prime's armour on gold if you can stick a good amount of the shot on its head - which isn't that hard even at mid range given the size of its head.

Which Graal does the same if not more damage with it's three shots, only it's a lot easier to kill other types of enemies as well.

I also find combat outside of close range to be much more reliable with the Claymore. It's easier to get headshots - you can land the bulk of the shot on the enemy's head just by aiming in that general area - whereas the aforementioned slow-moving, tightly-grouped Graal shot can miss completely at those ranges if the enemy is moving, or moves after you pull the trigger.

I readily admit that an experienced Graal Infiltrator could probably outperform a Claymore user, but it's a moot point anyway. I can handle the Claymore better, and while my Claymore is level 10, my Graal is level 2. I think any shotgun-favouring Infiltrator would use the Claymore in my position.

Yes I am on PC but also in Australia, I have both GPS and Graal at X while my Claymore is only XI but I am ussaly at the mercy of an American host playing ME3 on an Ipod with dial up so any weapon that affected by lag is useless to me.

My Quarian infiltrator uses a Geth Plasma Shotgun. The cool thing is, if you start charging your shot, then cloak you can fire and remain hidden. That means at least 2 cloaked shots. The damage output can be ridiculous. All of a sudden, Phantoms aren't so threatening anymore.

inb4 elitists come in here whining about how the tactic won't work on gold, even though it does.

If I had to chooe between the GPS and the Graal... I'd throw the Graal out the window right away.
But overall.. You just can't snipe properly with a shotty. Going in close so you might actually hit the head is simply not an option. The whole idea is to control the battlefield from a distance. Have a good overview of the area, pick out targets that should die right away, without having to run all the way towards them first.

Shotguns are great but...

...real men use pistols on the Infiltrator.

Actually I messed up and started a gold game once with just my sidearm Predator. Felt like I was a goddamn secret agent sneaking around pistoling people. Ended up 1st in score bizarrely...though the group wasn't great (wiped on wave 10).

Well I just saw a skilled Claymore SI in action on Gold and he was tearing **** up faster than I've ever seen myself or anyone do with a BW/Widow. I'm convinced the Claymore SI is possibly the most OP build in the game. Graal/GPS seem still good since you can charge before cloaking but to me that seems like more of a hassle and lowers your DPS in the long run.

Not to be hipster or anything, but I was going this with my CQC infiltrator in ME2.

Now all they need to do is invent a sniper rifle that can be charged up. IMPLICATIONS DISTURBING

Graal/GPS is better than Claymore, I am 100% sure of this. You just need to try it yourself, instead of asking for videos, and looking at other players. Get the weapon in your hand and see it for what it is yourself.

Not shotguns damnit... Geth shotgun and graal spike thrower. When they are charged, a body shot insta-kills, and the cloak doesn't brake. 

Any shotgun gets a massive damage boost from just the basic cloak . If it spits hot fire at close range with a sudden bang, it's going to ruin someones day. Period.

I thought you got the memo TC: Widow sniping is t3h ultimate cool cuz you do more the most damage, and your team is always incapable of high damage output. Therefore you MUST have a Widow sniper, right? Right?
