does anyone know what the pressure pannel opens? all i know is that when i get someone to stand on it it makes a sound, I put my part on stand still and run another around looking but im yet to find anything.

It releases a dragon who has a good 2H sword. There are 3 pressure panels... 2 on the east side of the room (assuming the throne is on the south side) and one right outside the room through the north door of the throne room. Stand on all 3, examine the throne and the dragon will be released.

so what's the "lore" behind this dragon..I'm curious..as I've never come across anything that I recall to explain these pressure points and a caged dragon coming out of nowhere

Examining the throne I believe gives you a codex entry that details something along the lines of an old dwarven king had imprisoned some magical beast in the earth beneath Orzammar, something something something. Personally, I could give a crap about the lore, but it is there to be found.

Wow. I remember coming across this, being extremely confuddled as to it's purpose. Later when I came back, it wasn't working anymore, so I chalked it up to bugs. That's really helpful, thanks Torin.

It doesn't work once you've put a king on the throne.

Didn't find this one until my fourth run-though... you'll want the sword before you hit up the Deep Roads, it's GREAT against darkspawn. The two panels in the throne room are diamond shaped and on the left hand side when you're looking in, the third is a big square in the middle of the entryway.



It's pretty fun to bring a dragon out to play in the middle of a throne room, too
