We've only ever seen male Turians in the game, but that doesn't mean female Turians don't exist. There's no reason to assume that Protheans lack females.

I did not interpret that Protheans were an all male race from that statement, just different custom. A species that shares complex ideas so easily probably don't value privacy the same way we do - not that I believe they wouldn't have secrets and intimacies, just that it would be alien to us, as we are to him / them.
I'd romance Javik.

EDI said she had to tell him the difference between the boys and girls room implying the Prothens did not keep seperate restrooms for males and females. Given what we know about the Protheans its understandbale they did not differentiate between genders.
