Yes because fans will be wary of any new BW title. IMO

If DA2 didn't, this probably will.

They should call it "Dragon Age: Origins Part 2". I'd consider buying.... but I wouldn't.

Think on this. Mass Effect 3 was massively preordered. People bought it, sight unseen, because they trusted BioWare to make a great game. Many because they believed BioWare would create the game they, in all their pre-release interviews etc, had said they would.

Now, if you love the game as it is and would change nothing, I am happy for you.

But for those of us unhappy, would we ever preorder again?
We can't really trust BioWare again, really. Even if they said that DA3 would allow you to bone anyone you like, kill dragons, bend dictators over your knee and spank them, allow you to murder knife team members that threaten to raise an army to come back to kill you because you refuse to kill the kitten man (Sebastian, you're DLC, for f$$k's sake. Leaving me because Anders is awesome? Really), punch the snot out of Religious freaks, both human and bullheaded, and also be able to strut around naked . . .

Well, if I could trust BioWare to actually hold true to that promise, I'd be preordering that 7 months in advance, like I did with ME3.

But as it stands, I'll wait for user reviews of the game, I'll check out whether they think the ending is acceptable or not, and by the time that's all happened, Dragon Age 3 will be a preowned purchase for me.

BioWare- by teasing with Mass Effect 3, you're endangering DA3.

By not holding to promises, we can't trust your word.

Do you understand?

BioWare: No, you did this! You killed the game!

Customer: Your lust for power has already killed it.

If they said they were making a direct sequal to DA:O I would be the first in line to preorder. Doing what they did with DA2, not making it a real sequal, is maybe the most nonsensical decision in gaming history.

i shall not be purchasing DA3 on launch, after the disappointment that was DA2 and the terrible ending to ME3, I do not trust Bioware to deliver on its promise.

From now on I will look out for reviews and listen to forum feedback before i'll consider purchasing future bioware products.

You are right about one thing, Bioware's reputation as well as my experience with Mass Effect 1/2 pretty much forced me to preorder 3. Few games create an entire reality that is so immersive...heck Mass Effect (1) pretty much created the entire universe complete with back story and all. It was clearly a RPG by gamers for gamers (please don't shoot me Interplay assassins).

Because DA2's reception hurt ME3's preorders so much.

Preconceptions surely will play some role, but ultimately DA3 will decide how many preorders (and sales) DA3 gets.

Dragon Age 2 didn't kill Mass Effect 3 pre-orders so Mass Effect 3 won't kill Dragon Age 3 pre-orders.

Vocal minorities are just vocal minorities. They can cause a huge commotion but in the end they don't effect much.

People thought ME3 was their redeemer. And ME2 was a pretty decent game, if you were a fan of the series ME3 was a no-brainer get.

I hope BioWare not only listens, but understands what we're saying. If Casey had said, even a week or, he'll, even a DAY before release,
"In the upcoming Mass Effect 3 game, the decisions you have made will affect many interactions in the game, such as which characters you can get to interact with. However, the ending will not be as divergent as we had thought it would be. We feel this s made up for by the many ways things change during the game. Thank you."

- then I, and any others, would be annoyed.

But we would not feel we had been lied to.
We would not feel we could no longer trust BioWare to give s the game they promised.

The thing is ME3 is a pretty decent game too.  DA2 also wasn't all that bad either.

The people claiming that ME3 and DA2 are amongst the worst games ever are just blowing smoke, and threats to never buy another Bioware game are always hollow.

It's like the guy you quoted said; DA3 will determine how many pre-orders DA3 will get.  If the game looks sweet you're all pre-ordering.  You all threatened to never play another Bioware game after DA2; I saw it.

I don't like Dragon Age quite as much as Mass Effect but if DA3 looks interesting I'll buy it. ME3 has nothing to do with that.

Fixed that for you.

People bought ME3 because they felt that Mass Effect was a safe title. Now that they were grossly disappointed by DA2, then practically back-handed with ME3? Yes, DA3 certainly will be affected regardless of how little you believe it will be.
