Quite frankly, Dragon Age disappointed me. The darkspawn story was too similar to other more recent tales having been told in pop culture, and honestly the combat and game play mechanics, and dialogue mechanics felt recycled to me.

Original stories were never Biowares strongest side. The characters and their interactions were.

As for the combat, that's in the eye of the beholder. Frankly, I was apalled by the monkey style they introduced with DAII.

By the time DA3 comes out we will see just how much Bioware was hurt over this mess with ME 3.

Think on this. Mass Effect 3 was massively preordered. People bought it, sight unseen, because they trusted BioWare to make a great game. Many because they believed BioWare would create the game they, in all their pre-release interviews etc, had said they would.

Now, if you love the game as it is and would change nothing, I am happy for you.

But for those of us unhappy, would we ever preorder again?
We can't really trust BioWare again, really. Even if they said that DA3 would allow you to bone anyone you like, kill dragons, bend dictators over your knee and spank them, allow you to murder knife team members that threaten to raise an army to come back to kill you because you refuse to kill the kitten man (Sebastian, you're DLC, for f$$k's sake. Leaving me because Anders is awesome? Really), punch the snot out of Religious freaks, both human and bullheaded, and also be able to strut around naked . . .

Well, if I could trust BioWare to actually hold true to that promise, I'd be preordering that 7 months in advance, like I did with ME3.

But as it stands, I'll wait for user reviews of the game, I'll check out whether they think the ending is acceptable or not, and by the time that's all happened, Dragon Age 3 will be a preowned purchase for me.

BioWare- by teasing with Mass Effect 3, you're endangering DA3.

By not holding to promises, we can't trust your word.

Do you understand?

Agreed.

Depends if Dragon Age 3 follows the same route of Mass Effect 3 of even less RPG.

No it won't be affected much if at all at least not in relation to ME3, different teams, different franchises. Those who say it will for the most part do so to push their own agenda. Doom and gloom, end is nigh unless they get pleased agenda. Prone to hyperbole, huff and puff and threatening idiology, a side that should be taken along with a pinch of salt.

On its own? Probably not. But combined with the already lackluster reputation achieved by Dragon Age 2, who really knows?

MA3 received record sales because players held hope that the mistakes with DA2 were a fluke. Now, with the ME3 insanity, it just might put a good dent into DA3 preorder sales. Also, let's not forget...not everyone is happy with SWTOR; cumulative effect.

Me personally, I'll never preorder any game again, been bit too many times to go that rout. I'll wait about a month before buying their games; I'll let other gamers play the role of guinea pig beta tester for a change.

I also think it's important to consider how even amongst us ending haters, most did not think it would be quite this bad. If someone had told me not to bother with ME3, because the ending was horrendous, I probably would have laughed it off and bought it anyway.

How about we see stuff of Dragon Age 3 first, then decide.

i´ll not preorder anymore. will wait for the user reviews.
after da2 i was unsure (lot of things i liked, lot of things i disliked).. but me3 generally questions if BW and I are still moving along the same road.
its just too much time investment for me to be unsure if i´ll leave with a satisfied feeling. (this is btw also the difference to a movie, where in the worst case i invested no more than ~2h watching it + 5 min metacritic)

Consumer confidence is shaken. Core fans may wait and let DLC roll out so all cards are on the table first.

I wasn't planning on pre-ordering DA3 on the basis of all the problems I had with DA2. Depending on how ME3's ending is handled in April, I may not even give it a shot post-release.

I won't be pre-ordering it, either. I'm going to wait for the player reviews.

Actually, DA2 is what made me question ME3 purchase, it was the ME3 demo that nailed that coffin shut.

ME3 is the best game I never bought!!

If Mr. Awesome is the lead designer of DA3 then the game will suck for people who liked DA:O. After DA2 and now ME3 I will not pre order any BioWare game until they get their grip together.

Even if it gets better user reviews than DAO, I won't be buying it new. I'm very sorry that I bought DA2, so I figure I'll make it up to gaming by buying DA3 used (if it's good).

It will hurt it a bit at least... but DA2 did most of that... now if they somehow make it so you got back to your DA1 world as the Hero instead of Champion... that would definitely help but yeah... I trusted Bioware to make great games... but 3 flops in a row? DA2, SWTOR, and now ME3 even somehow disappointing and that was their golden baby... yeah, I know I will wait for fan feedback before I purchase anything, nevermind preorder anything from them again
