Yes Mass Effect isn't on that list as it came out in 2007 but wait
http://en.wikipedia....os_(game_studio)
Under Software development studios look what it says for under the Former/Defunct column
Under Owned franchises and properties Mass Effect is not listed.
So unless I am missing something Mass Effect is owned by Bioware and Microsoft do not own the console rights.
Thanks a lot for this one.
It made my day, and it shows me that there is people really supporting the idea, taking the time to do some research.
This is a good sign.
Are you willing to give me a hand co-ordinating this idea?
Because alone I feel like a preacher in the desert telling the same 5-6 points every day
For what regards the profit.
I think Mass Effect can sell 0.80 mil copies blindly.
I repeat, ME2 surpassed 1 mil and ME3 is already past 0.6 in the first 2 weeks of data, it sold better than Dead Space 2 in the opening 2 weeks. RETAILS ONLY
Also, the assets are already there. (Textures, engine, script, 3Dmodels, voiceovers)
I don't care to have a new build of the game, I care about it for the story.
And I think I can voice most of the people that writes here.
The little flaws of Mass Effect will be acceptable knowing what awaits in the latter episodes
I don't favour a PSN only release though
And thanks Stallion to be stubborn as a Krogan, we love krogans

Well its already proven that the content that ME1 save brings is on the ps3 versions of ME2 and ME3, the demo of ME3 speaks that much. Just the content is locked to us because we didnt have ME1 save on the ME2 import.
Cool!
Thanks, another point I missed.
That would make things even easier, since it wouldn't require a patch for ME2 and ME3.

Another good reason is ME1 can not be told with a comic that gives us 6 choices, I found when i replayed ME1 on my friends 360 that the comic truly disgraced the essence of the game
I played Mass Effect 2 before I played Mass Effect, and I never saw Wrex in my first time playing because I killed him not knowing exactly what the genophage was (until I read the codex entries).
After I finished ME2, I HAD to play ME, and suddenly everything made sense. On my second playthrough of ME2 I chose the 'correct' choices for (Paragon and Renegade), but you're right the comic was bland

Of course the IP is still owned by Bioware and it was EA and not mictosoft that published ME2 and that's why there was no legal drama to release the game on Ps3.
Actually, in this example, there was no drama for releasing ME2 on PS3 because Bioware/EA found a loophole in the exclusivity agreement. When ME2 was released originally, it was an exclusive title. That's why it wasn't released on PS3. However, later on they were able to release ME2 on PS3 using the ME3 game engine, a game engine that was not under console-exclusive contract. If it weren't for using the ME3 game engine, PS3 never would've seen ME2 either.

I would love for this to happen but their response about it was disheartening. Maybe if we showed them that there are enough of us who would buy it on PS3 through a petition, etc. (while I doubt they want to see ANOTHER petition right now) we could get them to think about it.
YES, setting a petition would have been the easy way.
But I do NOT want this to seem an attack, but rather an act of love
We love your game, we want to give you more money, please listen to us.

More realistically though, I'm hoping Bioware may release "definitive/remastered/whatever" editions of all three for whatever next-gen consoles the brain trusts are working on right now...

Did you know that a PS3 runs blu-ray better than a blu-ray player because of it's high ram and HDD space that can be allocated where needed?BNB42 wrote...
I feel like this is just wishful thinking, but if there's any way my support can help make this a reality I'm all for it. I simply enjoy PS3 as a system more than the 360 (and yes, it's because I'm a Blu-Ray nut) and if I'd be allowed to play the original ME I'd buy it in a heartbeat.

Again, that shows some true love.
I actually would buy both ME1 as a stand alone product AND together with a "remastered" trilogy.
I would also kickstart it.
I tweet this thread every day to Zeschuk, Hudson, Muzyka, Bioware, EA, Sony, Shuei Yoshida...
Maybe all twitter users around here can start redirecting those guys here.

It's still a masterpiece.
If Bioware decides to perfect it, well, thanks a lot.
But I will grab the game as it is day one at full price.

Mass Effect 1 can absolutely be done on PS3.

though gameplay mechanics is a little rough (shooting+cover), the narrative/story compensated and make it up (which is the strong asset of an ME game). If ME1 do comes to the PS3 via PSN, will definitely buy it.
note: Still love ME3 despite the bad ending

Hell if Bioware set up a kickstarter I would gladly give a few quid towards it.
I could play ME1 on PC but it won't be my Shepard and some decision would be for nothing.

Yes I did! Ain't it grand? I used to own a cheapie Samsung model and it worked fine for about 5 months before kicking the bucket. I then bought a PS3 and have been in sweet, sweet hi-def bliss ever since.

My uncle bought a 400$ blu-ray player, claimed it was the best on the market. I plugged in my PS3 and it loaded faster and played better then his top of the line player.BNB42 wrote...
