I owned a 360 then it RRoD on me and I've been MORE than pleased with the PS3.
I would also help kick-start it if that's what it took.

i do agree, its kinda sad that theyve given ps3 users the shaft on the storyline, you miss alot if you dont get to port from ME1.
Agreed. I have a 360 and all three on it. There are a lot of plot points that my PS3 Shep doesn't have.
Would like to see ME overhauled with the ME3 engine. The combat was pretty boring in ME, it's still a great game.

And besides, ME1 is one of my favourite games. I'd love to play it again. So yeah, I'd definitely be for a PS3 - port of ME1. And if that isn't possible, at least something like a patch that gives PS3 players complete access to all choices of ME1, every minor or bigger one. Completely optional of course, just for those who KNOW the original ME1 and just didn't have the chance to buy the second game for the same system. The interactive comic doesn't do the game or the characters/story any justice.

The problem I foresee is that EA might not have the rights to publish. Has anyone ever heard anything definitive from the Bioware brass regarding this?
Also, there would have to be a fairly high minimum amount of money that needs to be raised, and to work that out we would have to collaborate with EA somewhere along the line. They might not be keen on the idea, but hey profit is king so if we pay for the business costs and they distribute digitally to maximize profits then I don't see why not.
Or maybe this is just a sweet pipe dream. I would live some dev input on the reality of this situation though.

Love this idea! I've been wishing for it ever since I played ME2, even brought ME1 for PC even though my laptop can barely run it just to see what I was missing and even now I feel left out with all the cameos and extra dialogue we missed.

I have ME1 for PC but my laptop, but I can't run it
Group?
Can you help me with it?

However the bigger issue is that ME2 for PS3 wasn't made to allow ME1 imports. So playing ME1 would just be for the experience, not to flow Shep's story on thru the rest of the saga.

This is something they'd have to work out for sure. The entire reason I want ME1 on PS3 (besides having the complete trilogy) is so I can take 1 Shepard from the beginning to the end. Not being able to import kinda defeats the purpose for me.

I'd guess they could patch that without too much trouble.zambingo wrote...

I just recently bought ME1 on Steam, but I'd much rather play it on my PS3. It would definitely be paying 60 bucks for a PS3 version despite the Steam version only being 20 (even less if you snag it while it's on sale).

you do realise and i stated this earlier in this thread microsoft own the rights to have this game distributed on consoles so your out of luck on that unless bioware have something written in their agreement but i doubt it known microsoft the contract with watertight
No, I don't realize false information.
Sorry.
Also, there's a legal concept that is very hard to explain in English since it's not my mother tongue.
Exclusive rights that last forever don't exist and law doesn't allow them.
Law doesn't allow to monopolize someone else property.
Not to mention that it's outside the interest of one of the contract under signers to tie their property to someone else forever because it would mean losing control over it.
No one signs an exclusive right without an expiration date because it would mean slavery or selling the property de facto.
People should study some International Right and Copyright Laws before speaking.

Putting the game up for sale on the PS Store would get them some more cash.
Though if they wereto do that, it would mean having to use more money on porting it to PS3, which I doubt they would bother with.
I thought Microsoft owned ME1.
Start a petition
I`d buy it in a blink of an eye.
I`d rather have all of them on the same platform than having to play ME1 on PC(I only have a laptop, I`d rather play an ME game on my 32 inch tv)
Checked with Wikipedia:
Publishers of ME1 - Microsoft games on Xbox
EA on PC.
Which means that Microsoft only owns rights to the Xbox version, which again means that if EA wanted they could release ME1 for PS3.

Publishing has nothing to do with rights guys <_<ThomasakaDes_ wrote...
Well, EA should definitly think about it, since they like money so much.

Period.
They DO NOT CONTROL the IP.
Period.
EA International/Bioware can do what they see fit with Mass Effect 1.
Period.
Basically even Gears Of War could be released on PS3 BUT Epic said more than once that they feel in debt with Microsoft for all the support they gave to the franchise.
MASS EFFECT 1 on PS3 CAN BE DONE, but we have to move our butts and ask, ask, ask.
Show that we want it and that we want to give EA/Bioware the money.
That Mass Effect 1 is a profitable move.
