At the very least, this is an original idea. I still think indoctrination is the best explanation, but this could have been a great twist had it been implemented into the story.
Just as lame as this, that's the whole idea behind, Speculation from everyone.

What if the Cruicble is the synthetic that kills all life in the galaxy????? And the Reapers are trying to stop you from making it! No one knows what the cruicble does so it probably is the synthetic that kills all the organics! It's the only thing that is built every cycle!
It explains everything!
Edit: Sure, why not. Who wants ice cream?!

can you explain this further? I don't understandAuralius Carolus wrote...
Only makes sense in the context that many of the other synthetic threats that the Reapers are "saving us" from are manufactured by or because of them.

This is actually reeaaalllyyy good, but wouldnt the reapers just destroy the plans for the crucible?

Why do you keep resurrecting this thread? It was mildly funny once. It's frustrating to see you push it to the top of the pile over and over again.

Yes it does! It blows up all the mass relays killing everyone! Haven't you played Arrival?Dance Craze wrote...
But the crucible doesn't destroy all life when it goes off. Case closed.

The explosions are not that catastrophic during the final sequence. Also, not all of the relays are activated. If you read the codex only 1% o the galaxy's star systems have been expored and charted. Not all life in the galaxy would be destoyed anyway. Also, why would the reapers use TIM to "guard" the citadel as you put it? Why not just bring it out into reaper controlled space where no one knows of, if it is so dangerous?

I've explained several time why they can't move it to dark space. It is the mass relay that they use to quickly travel between dark space and the other star systems. If they move it to dark space they can't enter the star systems to stop the catalyst or end the cycle on time. And they moved it to where their biggest fleet was. It would be unwise to park it in dark space with no fleet protecting it.Dance Craze wrote...

stop trolling my threadzDance Craze wrote...
Dark space is inaccessible by anyone but the reapers.. and They live forever so they wouldn't care about the time it takes to travel. And do not ignore the fact that not all of the relays were active and 99% of star systems are uncharted and unaccounted for. Life that exists there would still live. AND they wouldn't need to end the cycle "on time" because beings would not build the catalyst if the reapers were not a threat. If reapers were concerned with saving all life they would just mind their business.
