Phenomenal Game - Sad to See Such Negativity

I'm in the middle of my second playthrough and am just in awe of the amount of heart that went into this game.  It just makes me sad that a vocal minority have cast such a negative light on one of the best games ever made.  (And, yes, you are a minority. The majority neither love nor hate the ending, and they don't vote in polls or post in forums.)

Bioware, thank you for a phenomenal game.  Your team should be proud.

Same. Can't bring myself to 2nd playthough knowing that my reasons ultimately don't matter at all.

99% of the game is pure WIN.

The final 1% is pure FAIL.

This is my opinion, worth no more than less than anyone else's.

Honestly, neither side has any scientific polling statistics, so calling one side or another "minority" is kind of a moot point.

You could resort to sales figures, but that is invalid, since someone has to buy the game to get to the ending . . .

Well you done it now, OP, you dared say something positive about the game.

This isn't going to go well.

I'm glad you liked the game - and having just finished it yesterday, I can say I really did think the first 99% of the game was AWESOME. Some really good character story development, very emotional-catching scenes with characters you've built relationships with over the series, and all around awesomeness. Until the end. Lots of people are complaining about the end, because it just wasn't up to par with the rest of the series IMO.

It kills replay ability...

Hey, I've always been positive about everything about Mass Effect but the ending. Not everyone that doesn't love every inch of the game is necessarily the same thing as one who hates every millimeter of it.

Plenty of us love 99% of it, that is all.

The game is great with the exception of some plot holes and a terrible ending. We aren't denying that.

The game is really good.

The future DLC is going to suck, though. The developers will be adding stuff specifically to stop the complaining instead of adding what they actually want to the game. I won't be buying any DLC because it's all tainted by the fans now.

I am proud that the team has gathered so much loyalty over 2 other games that people will still defend the ending of the last game.

The ending of this game was garbage and no other reason can be found for people to defend it.

The "negativity" is by and large solely about the ending. General concensus is that this game is great- which is why there's such an outcry about the endings not living up to that and/or breaking any desire to play the series again. For my part, I think ME3 is the best game I've ever played, the entire series is the best I've ever played, and the ending... well, I abhor its quality, to say the very least.

At best what you are suggesting Tahlec would lead to the conclusion that only a minority of players liked the endings. And based on anyone I've talked to, read or searched for (based on polls, forum posts, groups, twitter messages sent to bioware/masseffect etc) those who absolutely hated the endings far outnumber those who liked the endings or felt they did the game justice at all.

Every time someone uses the term "vocal minority" to describe those of us who have been enraged by the ending of ME3, it makes me a little sad, because it reminds me of the way the winds are blowing. Mass Effect isn't our series anymore, and as long as there are enough Call of Dudebros just getting into the series to make up for those of us who have been alienated by it, our opinions don't matter.

Aaaaaaaand "Call of Dudebros" is where you lose all credibility with anyone who isn't a condescending douche. Just, you know, in case you were wondering.
