Yep, right after Kaiden's first line at the beginning of ME1 I yelled 'Carth!' at my screen.  I think he does a great job with the voice acting too, but I was a little turned off in the third game just by sheer circumstances.

It felt a bit like they were shoving the ME1 relationship down my throat.  Thane died and no one cared, then immediately afterwards Kaiden said I'd cheated on him but it was cool, and all the chicks in the Normandy crew wanted into Shepard's cabin so....

Maybe just bad timing?

Sure sounds like it.  I know I would be annoyed by everyone trying to get in Shepards pants after the Thanemance.

Part of why Garrus and Kaidan are my favorite LIs is the fantastic voice acting. Mmmm...

Awww...I think maybe I just like the sensitive types.  I think I loved Titus as much as Yuna, which made their split even more heartbreaking for me.  One of the first games to truly bring me to tears.

To be fair on Kaidan, he's always been characterised as *very* serious about relationships, and the guy waits for Shep for 2 years.. despite that whole being dead thing.
Jacob in ME2 though.. blerg. First Shep acts like a pervert and Jacob the victim of sexual harassment, then the roles switch half way through!

And none of that excuses ME3 Thane/Jacob. I didn't romance either, but the sheer lack of thought put into them is very disconcerting.

Ever played Spellforce 2? Had a female option, fully voiced, with a far superior VA to the male option I might add.

called a man for the entire game. They could've gone with gender
neutral, but every 5 minutes it was "he", "him", "that man".
Drove me INSANE.

No I missed that game.  That's hilarious they went to the trouble of getting a female voice actress, but not to change any of the other dialog.

Hm... well, besides Garrus.... who else would you honestly romance? I mean, i know i would love for Wrex to be a LI, but that would never happen XD

And i actually never counted Liara as a non straight choice till now.... maybe because asaris can reproduce with any species.

But i kinda disagree, i mean, i had 4 female Shepards, one with Liara, one with Garrus, one who just used them (Kaidan in ME1 and Jacob in ME2, would have gone for someone else on ME3, probably Steve XD) and one who didnt need anyone.

While my sole male Shepard had.... well Tali.... no one else interested me in the least, i actually only made a male Shepard for Tali.

So yeah, quantity does not equal quality.

Never gotten a "he" that I remember, and I think "sir" is proper military terminology for female officers, even though "ma'am" exists, they're interchangable.
There are a few errors in the Shadow Broker dossiers like that though.

like tali looking up human mating signs even in my femshep play through and getting my hopes up and then squashing them. =/

It's a very weird and unsettling greeting that Shep keeps romance or not.
Funny thing is, and I pointed this out a year ago, if you talk to Jacob immediately after the Collector Base, FemShep will give him a different, normal greeting. Why couldn't they just just that the whole time?

Agreed.  I finished both the Garrus and Kaidan romances in ME3.  Both were amazing but I absolutely adored the buildup in the final romance scene with Kaidan.  It felt so genuine and Sbarges delivery was perfect.  I swooned too.

I think the thing that got me about Thane was that damn Siha nickname.  Kind of melted on that one.  Vega tried something similar with Lola... and then proceeds to never go anywhere with it.  Darn you Mr. Vega, I'm glad I kicked your ass when we 'danced'.

Ooo I just found that recently too!  That letter takes on a whole new spin.  Ya know, my Shep never archived that letter.  I always kept it in her mailbox.  She was definitely hung up on him.

I recall that too!  I figured it must be a bug in the programming they never bothered to fix.

I thought Joker's reaction at the dance club was pretty funny if Shepard asks, "What about you and me?"  He says something like, "Uh.  I never thought of you that way.  There's that whole chain of command thing.  I'm not Kaidan. Pfft."  I laughed.  Touche, Joker.  Touche.
