When Ashley turned a certain way while discovering the Huskified Cerberus trooper, I noticed the decals on her armor:

It's S1 and a Bird of somekind.

Vega also has a pair of them:

Although I was unable to identify them.

Anybody know the significance of these armor decorations?

And as an aside, Ashley's hospital shirt:

I couldn't make out much of it, but it says something like:

<serial number>
INT CARE <room number>
LT A WILLIAMS

I assume the logo is the hospital logo.
Do they print up a T-shirt for everyone who becomes a patient there?
And does the Patient get to take the shirt home with them?

Ashley: I was nearly killed by a Cerberus AI mech and all I got was this lousy T-shirt.
Traynor (groans): I was hoping you would resist that pun!

S1 would be her class and 'rank' within that class.

Like N7 is spec ops and the highest level (Sheps rank).

I don't know about the rest.
