Bioware has been there since the early 90's and almost EVERY rpg there is got it's inspiration from Bioware's games. You have to understand, pre-EA, Bioware would always make a 'game of the year' or some other insanely inspiring and genre-defining game.
They basically single handedly revived Lucasarts with Kotor, revived hardcore rpg-ing with Dragon Age.

Since they've been with EA, it all went downhill. You need to see it in context: Bioware is a great company, but things have changed. Rushed games (DA2), shoddy programming (FIFA and other sport games), cheap rip-offs (Need for Speed series) are an EA thing, not a Bioware thing. Same with all the DLC controversies: It's the EA way to do things.

Because they're a big publister and thus and easy target, personally I dinna have problem with EA, I enjoy FIFA every year, I enjoy the Mass Effect series, I enjoy alot of their games which they publish.

I dinna ken, though who ever called FIFA shoddy programming obviously doesn't play the game.

Because EA is evil. EA doesnt care about the games they publish, as long as they make quick money from it, they're happy. Most games reduce in quality when a dev is one way or another a part EA.

EA is all about the money and marketing, they'll push games that arent finished on the market to compete with other games.

Because EA is evil. More accurately, the publishing industry has been stepping on people's rights for a long time and people might be getting fed up?

Think about it, Steam can just lock your entire library of games if they feel like it (but I somewhat doubt that Waterstones will send people to my house and burn the books I bought from them).

So you've got extremely customer-unfriendly EULAs, intrusive DRM, Origin, transparent cashgrabs ("project ten dollar", now upgraded to day-1-DLC only included in the Collector's edition)... combine that with the fact that EA does few positive things (the developers get most of the praise for good games), and it's hard to not hate EA.

EA's been getting bashed since before DA2 was released. Read around via searches and most common statement you'll come up with is " Game Deadlines " if the game isn't finished, who the hell cares? People will buy it anyway.

I wouldn't call them totally evil though if you want totally evil look no further than satan himself activision's bobby kotick.

EA has trashed and isolated their consumer base with their sheer lack of regard for their customers.

There is a reason that a company such as Valve is universally loved and a Company such as Activision is Universally despised.

I don't like that EA gave too small budget for ME3 (one dev mentioned that they had to cut out some dialogs because of lack of budget) but over all I don't mind EA.

Origin for me is much better than Steam. Why? Because I don't have to worry about turning offline mode. When my Internet connection is down I can't start any game on Steam, but on Origin I can.

Also fact that I can install different language version of the game than my Origin's language version. For example I can install my game in English even tho Origin is installed in my native language. On Steam all games have the same language as installed Steam.

When I will have option to choose between buying game on Steam and Origin, I will choose Origin.

lets see - they force developers to rush titles to meet EA's own deadlines, leading to lower quality games, their customer service in help and support is pretty much just being shown two fingers and being told "we don't give a damn" about your problems... need i go on?

EA are the worst company in the gaming industry, they have never made a good game but ruined many (DA, ME, for example).

On the other side of the debate, of course, you have muggles/EA apologists blissfully unaware of the days when Origin and Steam were optional contentent delivery systems rather than mandatory things forced on the customer.

The approach is fundamentally wrong - "if you outlaw encryption, only outlaws will have encryption"

Never had any issues with FIFA and I never came across a bug playing KOA.Every EA game I've had real issues with have also been Bioware games. Once might be a coincidence, twice is a pattern.

Thats kinda true, when TOR came out EA's customer support was next to non existant.

My friend had a problem with his account, he sent them a page for support they responded about 4 days later and said " please send another report " so he repeated the action and got met with the same thing again, i told him to suck it up and call EA's support line, he did that and ended up being on the phone for well over an hour so it took him 9 days in order to get a simple problem solved that blizzard would of solved within 2/3 days.

There are many reasons, of the top of my head:

rushed games
running good studios into the ground
releasing the same game every year with a different number at the end
DRM
bloatware
digital "collectors" editions
online passes
day 1 dlc
pre order dlc
overpriced dlc
supporting the dlc craze
DLC gets priority over game patches

Been playing it since Fifa 97, but thanks for quick judgement ;)
My brother is a professional soccer player (or football, as it should be called), even he thinks it's complete rubbish, and we play it on World class level or above. The player impact engine and way the referee reacts to it on that level is simply shoddy programming. The AI simply punishes the player for correct beahviour and let's the ai opponent get away with everything: Lazyness on EA's part.

And online too:

So, any more bashing you want to add? :innocent:

ON TOPIC:
If you look at EA's history, they've been trying to break away from the évil' role they have. Not that many years ago, they allowed developers to create innovative and new games. In that period games like Need for Speed Pro Street (quite a nice 'hardcore' race game) and Mirror's Edge were created. If you look at the latest Need for Speed's, they are all cheap rif-off of the Fast and Furious movies and have nothing to do with actual driving. It's all back to the 'let's steal some money from the mainstream gamers' crap.

Suuuuuuure.

Jesus, I can't tell if people just hate things on here for the reason that everyone else hates them.

You realise it's a football simulation right? It's not meant to be an exact replica of actual football, I'd go outside and play if I wanted that but when am I ever going to play at Old Trafford or Celtic Park? The player impact engine is far better than it has been in years and you must be playing a different game because everyone I play FIFA with finds the AI far better than it has been in years.

Oh and the first link you posted, that's a dangerous two-footed tackle, here is a real life example of that tackle which resulted in a red card -  (Go to 1:08)

Because people can't get over things that happened years ago that were caused by a while different regime than the one who is in charge now.

Or perhaps a bit of jelousy that the current CEO John Riccitiello has been playing video games longer than them and knows more about games than they will ever know.

Couple all that with the fact they think they know better than anyone in the industry and burn with rage that their genius has not yet been employed in the video games industry.
