All said, ME2 and DA:O (2 of my favorite-ever video games) were pubslished by EA.

Ahh, but DAO was developed and finished before EA came into the picture. They delayed it more for console ports.

Sorry but on this original-purchase I have of Dragon Age Origins for the PC there is VERY OBVIOUSLY an EA SYMBOL with a DRAGON AROUND IT at the bottom right.

Same for Mass Effect PC.

So maybe I was wrong, they got in at the time of Origin, points remain.

---

AS for EA only being a publisher and thus not messing with anything, EA owns BioWare.

Because the PC version of the games came out LATER. After EA bought out Bioware they decided to release ME1 on the PC and the EA symbol you see is either because you bought it after Bioware got bought out or you bought a new version of the game (in some form on orgin)

Again DA: orgins and ME 1 was NOT made or published by EA. You cannot refute that because it's fact.

And yeah, EA owns Bioware ergo they tell Bioware the deadlines that have to be met. Hence the two year 'joke' that is always assoicated with the company.

Bioware=Win.

Bioware bought by EA=Fail

EA only wants money. Bioware used to deliver digital gold, now they are EA's B***h.

And nothing fails over night. Just because EA took over doesn't mean that Bioware started making sub-par games immediately. Great things take time to fall - Bioware included.

Things started to fail with DA2.

Did you ignore what I said.

ON THIS ORIGINAL FIRST PURCHASE WHEN IT CAME OUT PC EDITION OF DRAGON AGE: ORIGINS NORMAL EDITION, THE EA LOGO WITH A RED DRAGON SURROUNDING IT IS ON THE BOTTOM RIGHT OF THE CASE.

In short, when Origins was released, EA was part of it in some capacity.

I'll photobucket the thing for you if you want.

Okay apprently I thought DA:O came out earlier around ME 1's time. I was wrong - DA: O came out in 2009 which means they were able to put the label of 'produced by EA' on the title. Fair enough. ME 1 however still was not made by EA.

Online and Offline passes, shutting down Servers for relevant games (not like shutting down Xbox games from Xbox live), Origin, breaking promises (like a new copy of Battlefield 1942 for a purchase of a new copy of BF3) and other stuff.

Only the ME1 PC version was published by EA. And after a lot of foot dragging and monetary exchange by Microsoft to release the rights to EA.

oh come on with that. ME 1 was MADE and puiblished by microsoft - EA came later and said here I want to port this game made by YOU over to the PC and be able to put my label on it - here is money to compensate.

That's not the same as publsihing a game outright. So they wanted their name on the packaging - that is pretty much what it amounts to in terms of them wanting to 'publish' the game.

Because everything EA gets their hands on becomes low quality, when it started as high quality.

I'm agreeing with ya! lol.

The game was still developed by Bioware, BW shopped for publishers for the 360, and Microsoft was the only one to pick it up. Then EA bought BW, and they wanted to release it on the PC, took awhile cause MS still had the rights to ME1.

I use to be a simaholic and now I'm not. I use to play video games a lot more often than I do now (most of those companies got bought by EA and their games became lack luster).

I don't rly want to blame BioWare for anything, they are doing what they can with what deadlines and fundings they got.

I have a friend that works at Dice in Stockholm. All I can say, is that before EA, he was one of my best friends, and a rly fun guy. Some thing changed... He went from "Anakin" to "Vader"..

So if you need to blame anyone, blame the greedy EA.

------------------------------

Just a thought.. Is there a way we gamers, can put our funds togeather and buy out Bioware from the greedy claws of EA? I'm sure there must be a online fundraiser we could use.. =)
If anyone have the knowhow.. I'm in!

To be honest, EA-owned developers have given me several good games, including Dead Space 1&2, Battlefield 3, Mirror's Edge, Crysis series, Freedom Fighters and more. What's been happening to Bioware is somewhat unique to Bioware in my eyes. I don't know what it is, but I wouldn't completely blame EA.

I think because a lot of gamers don't have money, can't afford alternate costume packs and DLC, and then want that stuff. And EA is good at charging money beyond the original cost of a game.

...

Hahahaha...

They actually think that after the first charge we'll do it again?

A long time ago AOL used to have per-hour charges on their basic online AOL games.

They had this Starship Trooper game I played and it ranked up 20 - 30 dollars each week from just a few hours or more of play each day.

...

Hahahahaha Like THAT is going to be allowed to happen again.

If you did the research on EA, you might find the many other games they've ruined, also BF3 in regards to its singleplayer campaign, DS 2 in regards to its campaign and the fact the ending allows for unlimited milking, and Crysis 2 and Mirrors edge have all had terrible associations in regards to the quality of their stories or their actual sales.

Heh.  I totally forgot about the pay-per-hour charges that used to be normal in the 1980s and early-to-mid 1990s when logging online.  I distinctly remember the day AOL switched from pay-per-hour to a flat-rate.  The lines were so busy no one could log on (and we were using dial-up back then, too, so that made it even more annoying).

If Bioware is still around as a brand in 5 years I'll be amazed.  History says no.

So doing "research" invalidates my enjoyment of those games?  Good to know.
