Silvers not to bad. Much bigger risk of being overwhelmed in the later rounds with increased numbers and multiple banshees/brutes/ext at the same time. Other than that its basically the same.

A team using 1 rocket per round in waves 7-10 is about the same difficulty as bronze (not saying you need rockets or anything, but just as a comparison).

Silver blows. I'll bet a spectre pack that if I played ten rounds of silver and ten rounds of gold this morning I'll complete more gold runs than silver.

Silver is full of incompetent players who are afraid of gold, so they just sit in silver dicking everything up.

If you're worried about your performance, stack up on consumables like ammo and armour upgrades to give yourself an edge.

I found the jump from Bronze to Silver near release to be a bigger shock than the jump from Silver to Gold.

Just try it. Be conservative at first until you get a feel for it.

I've noticed a few people say the exact same thing while actually playing in all fairness, just yesterday i was matched with 3 random people who had finished a Bronze Challenge.

The host switched to Silver and he was only a N7 10 rocking a level 3 Human Adept, i wasn't so sure how the match would pan out but i stayed regardless thinking sticking close to him will give him a better experience. Not that I'm bragging or anything but i have a level 20 Human Engie with maxed out Overload / Incin and i pretty much dominate the class simply because I've spent a lot of time with it. So i figured if i stayed with him and helped out he would survive longer and enjoy playing the game rather then getting killed all the time.

We got to wave 5 when he said over the mic ''Damnnn i had no idea Silver would be like this, i'm sorry guys''

I think the jump from Bronze to Silver shocked him a little bit lol

I'd say that you should get into Silver when you're Level 15 and have both of your weapons at level V or higher. Gold is for level 20 and weapons at X.

Effectively, when you find that Bronze is easy, when you find you can reasonably work your way out of most situations on your own, if the need is there, and if you are familiar and happy with how your class/character/weapons behave.

Once you feel that Bronze is your safe area, that you don't have to stress over, or be worried ("will I finish or not, will we win or not?") - when a Bronze game is a certainty that no matter what, you can beat it. Then you should try Silver.

If you can, try to find a lobby that has players with decent N7 rank / characters, so that you may watch and take up playstyles from them. If you don't charge into mooks like a headless chickenguard, then they probably will not mind you being unaccustomed to it the first time.

Btw, that "class level 15/20 and weapons of level X" is rubbish. An avenger X is still not good enough for gold. A widow I is already good enough for gold. A level 15 class with a player who is very familiar with it (what combos it can do, what it can survive, how agile/durable it is, what it synergizes with) will be iles better than a level 20 who still has no clue what's what.

And silver can easily be done by classes with level 10 or so, as long as the players are aware of their potential AND limitations.

Any posts on class or weapon level requirements are rubbish. If you know what you're doing and can see what your team is lacking, you could play as a Vanguard with a Widow and Claymore and still be one of the top scorers if you can perform a role necesary to your team. Though, I wouldn't recommend using that setup if you don't want to get kicked.

People are exaggerating the difficulty of Silver. It isn't hard at all-- just give it a try. Don't try to meet anyone's level or equipment requirements, just jump into a Silver game. As long as your role doesn't overlap with another team member's, your class and equipment is suited for the role you're performing, and you stick with your teammates, it's pretty hard to be useless. A level 1 anything can still perform crowd control, which is a crucial role lacked by most public lobbies. At least on Xbox 360.

Not only on xbox, i usually end up killing all small frys to save my team just to end up having to singelhandedly beat the elite as well that took them down/sync killed them

Most often times i am almost forced to play as sentinel/infiltrator because of the tons of lackwits that got no idea and rely solely on their gear while trying to play as if it is bronze, can't enjoy using and mastering the (for my way of gaming) lesser classes

Once Bronze feels boring/too easy for you.

I can be pretty boneheaded myself when I play, but don't let that stop you. I play Gold, Silver when I'm trying out something new.

I hit Silver once I unlocked the Javelin for my Salarian Infiltrator. Prior to that I ran with shotgun infiltrator with my claymore. Recently I switched to Asari Adept/Salarian Engineer to try them out.

May give the shotgun infiltrator another go since I just got the Graal in a premium vet pack earlier.

Hey guys,

I played Bronze so far, which goes decently fine. But kinda afraid to move to Silver. I got a decent amount of uncommon upgrades, but that doesn't make me a good player. Theoretically, I know what to do, but I still make stupid mistakes at times and it's not uncommon for me to get myself killed by doing something silly.

So, how much harder is Silver really? What would I need to be able to win Silver, assuming my skills aren't too amazing? I don't want to let my team down or underperform, especially since it doesn't help anyone (including myself).

Cheers!

Just make sure to use your high level characters in silver, and be a team player and you will be fine. Silver is only hard if idiots run off by themselves, don't go for the objectives etc..

I've completed Silver with level 1 characters and Gold with level 5-7 characters. Levels don't matter. Your knowledge of your class, skills, weapons, ability to be a team player and most importantly, situational awareness, matter the most. If you have a handle of that then go for Silver and Gold.

A decent level character (at least 10 is recommended), a proper weapon (95% of the times you want a single weapon only) and understandment of how your abilities work. What class do you like to play?

I commonly see this....

If you are playing as a power spam class and get ultra light smg materials you can still load a phalanx or predator with a smg.

Yes I have the Carni, but I would rather have the 200 percent recharge and not run out of bullets.

As for the question, just try it. Its all about the team. Most of the players on bronze are terrible by the way. I just promoted one of my classes so I had a level one Asari Adept. I had the most points on my first game on bronze, this is not a good thing. I was playing with a level 20 vanguard and a level 18 soldier (why they are on bronze makes no sense to me..). I was providing crowd control... not really going for kills.

I would bring at least a level 8 player though... otherwise you might get kicked...

Bronze is where everyone should start out, until you reach level 10-15.

Silver is for when you realize Bronze is a complete cake walk.

Gold is for when you get bored of running so many Silvers and want an actual challenge. Gold requires you know how to counter each enemy, and you must know how to STAY ALIVE. It requires high awareness, and it's very anti-tunnel vision. Geth will move up from behind and 2 shot you if you don't cover the flank. Cerberus Phantoms will overwhelm you unless you have a good Asari Adept/Vanguard, or if you have a good team that focues them down quickly.

As for the reapers I havn't played against them much and they are the toughest. Banshee+Ravager combo is what kills you the most though I know that much. Banshee scatters group and Ravagers just 2 shot if you are out in the open.

The best advice I have is always stick cloes to your team, and stick with the role you intend to play. If you plan on defending your team, stay back behind them and always try to be the last one alive so you can revive your squad mates. Learn your class, learn your role, learn the strategy of each enemy type and you'll be on your way to Gold.

I personally  play Gold only, and usually make it to wave 9 and 10 on a bad run, and full completion on a good run. I'm happy to say a lot of good players are online latley running random Golds, and I couldn't achieve this without them. :)
