If you're a straight manshep in ME3:
Ashley wants you
Diana wants you
Jack wants you
Kelly wants you
Liara wants you
Miranda wants you
Tali wants you

If you're a straight femshep in ME3:
Garrus wants you
Jacob cheats on you and gets another girl knocked up (racist stereotype much?)
Joker would rather get it on with a fembot who probably has machine gun nipples.
Kaidan wants you (but he got reconned to be bisexual now, while Ashley didn't get the same treatment)
Thane dies (though to be honest we all saw that coming, still could've given Paramour for him though)
Vega doesn't want you for some reason (despite every other non-dlc human squadmate being romanceable)

So straight femshep is left with 1 human and 1 very non-human-like alien man, and no new straight romances.
Meanwhile lesbianshep gets 4 alive and willing women (Diana, Kelly, Liara, Traynor) to hook up with, 2 of them new, because all femsheps are actually dudes in real life am I right? <_<

That's it, after I finish ME3 with Kaidan I'm done with Bioware romances. They can cater to the homosexuals with a couple of token gay characters and scream "gender equality", while the straight female gamers are forgotten about once again...

Yeah, its a bit of a shame. She only gets one straight, human romance. I personally prefer Garrus to Kaidan, so for me its not that big a deal, but still, a bit disappointing.

Actually Garrus wants you only if you romanced him in ME2. So that leaves Kaidan! Unless he's dead which means FemShep has no male LI's. At all.

I know, I know ...
If Kaidan died on Virmire, with Thane's death and Jacob's moving on, there's only one straight LI left for fem!Shep: Garrus.
She easily can have Liara, Samantha and Diana - but not Vega and not Mr. Handsome Cortez.
So in the end, fem!Shep only has two straight LIs of which one can die. Well played, BW. Not.

Just "correcting" stuff, mind ya?
Since man!Shep also suffers some ... "short sticks".

LaurenShepard-N7 wrote...

Can get killed on Virmire and her romance lacks any fluff in ME3. No interaction once she's back on board.
Diana wants you
Poorly executed so called "romance". She's a fling. All she wants is to scr*w with Shepard.
Jack wants you
Too bad her romance didn't really continue in ME3.
Kelly wants you
Not considered as real romance. How's it in ME3?
Liara wants you
The only truly beautiful & well done romance. Flawless. Too bad she's not my type :(
Miranda wants you
And gets the short end of the stick in ME3. Same like Jack.
Tali wants you
She doesn't really return to Shepard until the second half of the game.

I'm not a fem!Shep player but can definitely feel with you. Overall, only Liara!fans get a really good romance while everyone else gets reduced content, sidelined characters, missing interaction - basically, BW tells those guys: "sorry, you just picked the wrong one". Especially if you have Thane or Jacob.

Seriously, BW ... not well played :crying:

Yeah, I would not count Jack as romance in ME3. Romance with her is 8 (!) lines long.

@CptData

Yeah, Liara is definitely the only very incredibly well developed romance.  But I think we all expected this.

So, unless you import asave, you have 1 option, and that is only if you choose Kaidan to live while picking Shepard's history.  Again, a bit of shame.

To be fair though, I understand that Garrus and Kaidan do have two of the better romances in ME3. Straight ManShep may have more quantity, but the majority of those don't have quality backing them up.

The Kaidan romance is really good. I don't have a Garrus romance because as much as I love Garrus, he's more like a little bro than a romance for me. Besides, catching him with Tali at the end is one of the better moments in the game.

Still BioWare does seem to have a thing for ignoring the idea that straight women do tend to play games don't they?

And Liara is the canon LI in this game, so all the way around, if you don't pick Liara no matter what you play or how, YOU'RE DOING IT WRONG as far as BioWare is concerned.

Hell the non romantic relationship with Kaidan is better then the romance with Ashley. Who will not suit up about her family.

Sure, but why shoving it down the throat so badly?
Besides that, check out ME1 again. The three available LIs were pretty much at the same level.
It was ME2 that gave Liara some extra stuff - and in ME3 it's painfully obvious: "Sorry, dear gamer, only Liara is a real romance, the rest is either sidelined or reduced to sex."

That's what I feel.

Liara's romance is perfectly done, especially since there's enough fluff and non-romance stuff between her romance scenes. AND: those scenes are also available to Shepard's who didn't romance Liara (like the time capsule scene).

*sigh*
I simply can't force myself to go after Liara just to experience the only true romance in the game.
Why do I have the options to choose other LIs if only Liara gets a proper romance?

I thought the Kaidan romance was poorly done since he ignores the LI 99% of the time. Could he not be more like Allister and pretend he actually likes Femshep while they are on the ship together?

From what I've heard this isn't a Kaidan exclusive problem. Maybe the have a different writer for the ship dialogue, than the cut-scene dialogue? Or they're just lazy.

She really misses Thane.

I thought that Kaidan's romance arc was just wonderful. And even if there was less talking on the ship, there still was the poker-game, talking after Sanctuary and other things. And all convos with him where wonderful! I'm not saying anything bad about Kaidan. Kaidan actually has more to say on the ship than Ash from what I've read so far on the forum. And Garrus seems to be equally well done.

Happen to love the Jacob-romance-arc in ME2, it was wonderful. So I am not super-glad that he isn't available in ME3. But for me the biggest problem is the tone of it. For me it isn't dealt with in a good way because FemShep is more interested about getting in his pants than talking to him and that just doesn't fit with how the romance ended in ME2. Oh well. I am not opposed to something sad happening to one of FemShep's LI:s. Jacob leaving, makes me sad but let me role play it well and it is ok. Thane has a tragic story, oki, but make it good. Make it count. And, if you are removing continuing story with 2 guys, perhaps add one new? It is sad that resources were miss spent on Jacob, because he has a few convos during his mission. Then the hospital and holo on earth. They did work with him, but it just didn't work out.

It isn't inherently evil with a romance turning sour, but it is sad when it is not taken care of in a good way. One heartbreak LI could perhaps been enough? And in all honesty, you don't really see too much of Jack, and we ladies has the luck of getting Garrus earlier than Tali. Guess that you can't only compare them by nr.

Yup, nerdy men.... Image IPB You know I thought when they gave femshep her own trailer they were going to balance
both characters equally. How silly of me.

It would just be better if the gay characters didn't feel so forced in... That's what made it awkward for me. If you have any other games you know of with good romance plots for straight female gamers can you let me know? Bioware is all I got right now.... Oh and please don't say skyrim lol.

I think in ME3 it was pretty obvious what the favorite in-house romance is for fshep.

Because Liara is the feminine archetype of the galactic hero and completes the rugged personality of Shepard. It's the easy romance choice.

But for traditionally sentimental women, Liara is no mate or partner, she's a close friend at best.

Its not all bad, what is there is pretty good.  Though I agree, and its a real shame.

LOL.  As much as I would love a FemShep/Joker romance (I mean really Bioware, why tease us...) a sexy fembot with machine gun nipples sounds exactly like something Joker would be into lol.
