10:00 minutes.
Calling us. Petulant. Overblown.
This is the man that freaked out in public over the XCOM game being a FPS....
I am done with this guy.

My first thought is 'His Kitchen is a mess'.
I don't know how I feel about that.
Ok. Three pages into this thread and I thought I was the only one that noticed that.
What a mess.
No, I saw it as well but figured it wasn't relevant to the discussion.
EDIT. I just got to a point (Around 52/53 minutes in, I was watching this thread rather than his video) where he admits his kitchen is dirty but that he's cleaning it and he's just been shopping.

I so hope he's proven wrong now Just because of that one statement.
I believe that the Bioware writers can do so much better than indoctrination theory as proven by their other games.

It's worse then how threads here can keep pulling me in. At least I care about Bioware games. I don't really care what this guy thinks about things. But I still don't turn it off.

**Spends a moment trying to come up with a witty reply that involves being indoctrinated. Fails. Thinks 'Meh'. Keeps listening.'**
EDIT: Help! 8 out of my last 10 posts have been in this thread.

We already know that the writing team had no input on the endin, and it was written by Casey and Mac.
Then you consider how defensive they have been about it, and defending it. I honestly believe the ending was written for the sake of being symbolic and artsy, and just fell flat.

Watched it up until "If you did not like the ending to Mass Effect 3, you are stupid." and then stopped. I don't have 90 minutes to spare for that kind of closed-mindedness.
It's one thing to say that you liked even what was there (I won't get into the massive amount of speculation required to declare indoc theory "canonical"). It's another entirely to start to turn the ending into The Emperor's New Clothes. "Only the wise can see how awesome it is!" It grossly, like so many people in the media, seems to miss the point that the ending is not the true problem...lack of a variety of endings that reflect the way the player played the game is.
If you can sit there, at the final moments, make a save, and play the ending...then load your save and play the ending again, and load the save and play it again, and have seen in that single save file every bit of ending content the game has to offer, this should be an immediate red flag as far as the Mass Effect series goes that it doesn't jive with the way the game was supposed to work. This is even before we get into all of the problems with both the broad and the exact content of the ending. (Lack of a high number of truely divergent endings in the broad area, horrifically bad writing that seems like it couldn't have come from the same team that wrote the rest of the game in the exact area.)

I'll give him credit. He has legitimate, well thought out points of view. Can't say I picked up on any perspective that he or anyone else thought of while playing, but then I'm not the sci-fi buff that some people are. Today is also the first that I've started looking into the indoctrination theory in depth, so... yeah. Makes sense.
How exactly is him pretending to be a crying fan a "Well thought out point of view" ?? This is the same guy who had to stop videos because he had to deal with depression. I'll comment for him to get over it next time he brings that crap up.

Think about it too, for a second.
If BioWare really constructed an ending based around this theory, then they decided to end the game before the conclusion of a 100+ hour trilogy. Shepard waking up from Indocrtination is NOT a conclusion to the Reaper battle.
So either I. They plan on giving the gamers the real ending with DLC (which IMO is cheap. Even if it is free, witholding the ending to a game, is bad business and storytelling. And what about those that don't have access to internet?)
II. They don't plan on concluding the battle. And it just ends with Shepard waking up from Indoc.
Okay..either way you put it, both of these are terrible decisions made by the company.
So I'm not sure why some folks feel a need to be snotty about it OBVIOUSLY being Indoc. And if you don't believe so, then you just didn't get it. It goes beyond that.

Are you comparing depression, a serious human matter to a video game ending?
Cause.. that's kinda wrong.

I'm not saying his views are wrong, but how he's going about expressing them is. Shouting and ranting at people is not the way to get them to see what you're saying. Talking calmly and rationally is. I know that I for one, tend to shut out people who rant at me.

Fair enough, but I do agree with him about the ending backlash. It's gotten kind of out of hand, and that's why I'm not a part of it. But as long as I'm not told I'm a loser by not participating, people can do what they want.

Can't be any more melodramatic than what Spoony did when faced with Transformers and X-Com.
Hell, he summed the sentiment up: "Betrayyyalll!"

I'm with you in thinking that it's got out of hand. I only came into this thread because I thought it was the former BBC Radio 1 DJ whose stage name was DJ Spoony.
I'm still here because... I'm not sure really but whatever the reason is, it's also the reason I'm still listening to him at 1hr 29mins.

What I mean is no opinion is held by sheer spontenaity. He has well thought out reasons for everything he thinks and really... it's solid. At least I don't trust myself enough to be able too shoot holes in any of it.
Besides. He actually calls himself out as an **** in the video, so it's not like that argument even goes anywhere against him. He's embraced it.
I also don't see the relation depression has here. Go ahead. Comment. Doubt it'll amount to anything more than wasted time and effort.
