Ignoring the ending, what were the other parts of ME3 that were badly done?

- Attack of Earth starts too quickly. I found it hard to become so quickly emotionally involved.
- Multiplayer is boring, so being forced to play it is annoying.
- Journal is crap
- Talis face is bad photoshop job, I would have preferred to never see it
- Some romances got screwed. Its a fantasy game afterall, you want LI to survive if you are invested in them.
- Ash has hardly any romance dialogue.
- Citadel is the only hub.
- Not many side missions.

You nailed it. The Ashley thing doesn't bother me, but everything else was spot on.

Everything is the same button....hideous custom Shep textures...boring side quests. That's the worst stuff for me.

too much (slow) running about forced on you (in the citadel) if you wanted to gather max amt of war assets.

Tali's "face reveal". That was...awful. I could probably compile a list of things wrong with that part.

The intro. Everything about it.
The treatment of the ME2 LI's. Thane and Jacob especially, see my sig to protest!
The auto-dialogue.
Glitches: I got one hand hold with Thane, and my hand was about a foot above his.
The lack of ME1+ME2 relevance.
The lack of vehicle sections.

for me, while some of these weren't done poorly,. i felt like these could have been done better.

Lack of squadmates and the little cameo's of previous mates from me2. I wanted Grunt or Wrex back

the Journal was unorganized and could have updated missions as to what was accomplished or not in each mission.

No little puzzle games to access monitors, computer etc,

the lack of side missions and the scanning ones were quite lame after doing a few.

The Lazarus project the ENTIRE REASON SHEP IS ALIVE goes unexplained again!!!!! They tell us via video what we already knew in 2 that's not an explanation BW that's the same rehashed goods just I get to see it said by different people on video! Explain it full detail!

What tech went into shep?
- If reaper tech how will this effect shep and his crew does the tech carry the same risk or even a minor one of indoctrination?
- will this make him an easier target for reaper control
- how will this tech over the long run effect shep mentally, physically, psychologically? I want long term implications here

How was he the only test subject? What did they bring him back only to kill again the failures?
- How many times did they kill the not right sheps?
- Was TIM lying were there more test subjects?
- Or did they clone shep to test out the devices used sort of like how they used the kids to test bad methods before applying them to Jack

How about that control chip was tim really telling the truth?

Go into Wilson
- being an underpaid worker doesn't lead you to kill all your co-workers, shoot yourself in the leg, and join the SB, why did he do all that? He was going to be the richest most famous scientist in the world he cured death! He could've just sold the info to all the hospitals talk about money!

Have shep not be a brick about this anymore he should want to know what the hell happened to him.

The trial is gone wtf! Get it back in there! Arrival said we were suppose to have a trail and it goes on w/o the player? You don't do that BW!

Just like shep doesn't make friends w/o the player ie Vega he's far too casual with shep and shep w/ him and all it does is leave the players confused as to how these two meet much less hit it off. I actually would rather not be friends with this insubordination, smack talking guy.

How short Tali's romance was it seemed like there wanted to be more but there wasn't I agree with her completely I want more time! This romance had so much potential for conflict, bonding, and character development but was flattened out instead. Image IPB

Other LI as well were even less done Jacob cheats on you and she's totally fine with it? Thane's back to being ok with dying and not carrying to leave some good memories for fhep?Image IPB

Convince Mordin that the cure is ultimately a bad idea

Convince the Salarians that even though you cured the genophage, they should still help with the Reapers

These two are both somewhat doable; If Wrex and Eve are dead, Mordin can be convinced that Wreave would only lead them to a second rebellion, and that curing the genophage would be a bad idea.  The salarians will also send you a good number of troops if you save their councilor (not quite as many as if you had the Dalatrass's support, but they're still helping).

Other than the endings, and the Tali stock photo, my main issues with the game were primarily due to the loads of animation glitches.  Also, the eyes seemed to have taken a step back from ME2.

Wilson was working for the Shadow Broker. The dossier pertaining to Legion states: (Note: We are still unable to directly tap geth communications.Cerberus decryption programs look promising, but Wilson's death will make integrating new agents onto Minuteman difficult.)
The Shadow Broker may have still been trying to recover Shepard's body for the Collector's so sabotaging the program makes sense.

The Journal, Kei Leng and every level his is in, the animations in the game are terrible, Priority Earth just isn't a fun level that should have added some mechanices from DAO (afterall, both games had very similar stories and themes but DAO gets the end level right), lack of dialogue options that creates a canon Shepard on Bioware's end, and those damn dream sequences.

The Journal was useless compared to ME1 and ME2.

Also the toy Reaper minigame was just silly.

When I heard the lounge would be back with a poker table, I was hoping for a cutscene/minigame to play Skyllian 5 with my squaddies or drink with the crew. Suck that it wasn't taken advantage of, but not a biggie.

Aside from the journal, custom color schemes for guns and a lack of Jack. Most disappointing was that Kai Leng was made to be a chump after the citadel coup. Just a phantom with super shields. I was hoping he'd have his handgun as well, or a melee showdown.

I also would have loved to see the quarians unmasked. Not stock photos, not off camera shots. Actual in game faces.

Lack of returning side characters like Sidonis, Vido, Sha'Ira, Shiala, etc.

Lack of a trial or pre-attack Earth. Would love to appreciate it before it gets wrecked.

Lastly, no Blue Suns/Eclipse war cries. :(

Upon playing the game a 2nd time, I've come to realize ME3 is riddled with flaws. It's not just the ending that is awful, but the rest of the game lacks depth to the emotion. This article explains what is wrong with the game:

games.on.net/article/15190/RPG_on_Rails_Mass_Effect_3_and_the_Illusion_of_Choice

The game hits all the emotional highs, especially in regards to wrapping up past stories/choice. But the entire game feels like you are on the rails, being pushed forward watching a movie. It feels less like a game, compared to ME1 and ME2. This is similar issue DA2 had.

On the surface you are watching this great story, but it feels like you are experiencing it. This is especially true when it comes to choice and the lack of diversity in exploration. The world feels flat.

it seems as though Bioware has forgotton you can't spell Role Playing Game, without Role Playing

The Journal was really bad. I don't really understand what happened with that. It was fine in ME1, improved in ME2 and just lost any usefulness in ME3. You can't even individually mark the tasks as read/unread. Is it just me or does anyone else experience the issue where you go to your journal and you're automatically looking at your missions from halfway down the list regardless of the last spot you looked at when you closed your journal?

Then the helmet thing. ME1 had it perfect. If you are in an atmosphere that is unbreathable/harmful, your helmet and squadmates' helmets are automatically on. Anywhere else, you can choose to have them on or not. ME2 was a step back from that but I was okay with it because I could at least still see my squads faces during a mission (except in harmful atmosphere). I'm pretty over it now, it still irks me that my squad wears their helmet in combat and I have no power over it.

Lastly, and I won't get too much into it, but Javik and Vendetta know too much about the fate of the Crucible in their cycle when they were nowhere near Mars where it was buried. Javik is also aware of the Protheans that isolated themselves on Illos after the Reapers showed up which makes no sense as the Exodus Cluster is opposite to the Pangaea Expanse in terms of where the lie in the galaxy. Mass Relays were dark, communication was not possible with Ilos. The only Protheans who should have known about the isolationists should have been the isolationists themselves and other Protheans in the Pangaea Expanse.

Oh and the conversation system. I didn't like how when I made a response to someone during conversation, Shepard would often continue the conversation after the npc responded to me. For example:

Ashley: He Commander, how is it going?
Shep: (I choose response) Not bad Ash, it's good to see you back in action.
Ashley: It's good to be back.
Shep:(responds without giving me another option to pick from) Good to hear LT. I missed you while you were gone.

In addition to that, there are way too many times where you don't even get to pick options in conversation. Like the time Garrus asked me if I had gotten any sleep and Shep said, "I'll sleep when I'm dead." I would not have said something like that, and it just didn't feel like MY Shepard at that point. Don't get me wrong, I still had a great time with the game and will have many more, but at times it seemed like when Biware yook a step forward, they would take another step or two back in certain regards. I still love the game as well as the entire series but as with any form of entertainment that I love, I am going to analyze and criticize it. This is especially so with Mass Effect since it is my favorite fiction ever created:D

Not joining this bandwagon.

While not perfect, Mass Effect 3 was a masterpiece that kept me feeling those giddy 'good feelings' of excitment all the way through until the ending that produced 'epic fail'.

Fix the ending, and save the universe.

- Not enough hub worlds; as great as it is the Citadel isn't big enough to entertain you for the majority of the game, it gives you the illusion that it's big, when it really isn't.

- Way to much auto-dialogue for my liking, just recently finished ME1 (for the umpteenth time) and I think I only came across 2 instances of auto-dialogue, and Shepard only said one word in each.

- Tali's face... yes, she is pretty, but only because the woman they photoshopped was. Tali should be attractive/interesting/haunting/what have you because her rendered face is original, not a quick copy + paste job.

- The journal. I thought we're not in the nineties any more, but apparently I was wrong.

- Running animation, especially on FemShep

- Too little interaction with your squad-mates

- I get exploding heads when I kill someone with a headshot, but I am shown a shower scene in underwear/fully dressed. I must be European to find this strange.

- Compared to ME2, the squad was boring, or more squeaky clean. While doing the Grissom side mission, I found out that I really missed Jack. Man, was she obnoxious, but she brought some color to the game.

- Multiplayer having such an impact on single player. Was that really necessary?

Still, I admit that part from the last 10 minutes, ME3 was a blast.

Yeah, i agree. The Tali "face reveal" just reeks of laziness. Im more of a Garrus fan myself. But I still think that Tali deserved better.

The quest journal is... well it's crap. Simple as that.

And also the unskippable cutscenes and dialogue! Why??

The "eavesdropping and go scan a planet" quest types. Those felt cheap. I'd choose mountain climbing with the Mako over that any day. And I didn't even like the Mako mind you.
