Hell yes! Most epic bittersweet ending!

why does everyone think this ending was so great?  I had no emotional attachment to those characters what so ever and I fail to see how anyone could.

The neutral option was the best, so sad - yet peaceful.

Fair enough, but I and many disagree.

You know, that acctually was awesome ending. Touching, romantic, dramatic... and a lot was left open, which didn't bother anyone. I had a lot of fun with that game, and ending was really on spot.

That's how you make eternal damnation memorable.

BOOM!

This! Planescape:Torment - best game ever made! Deal with it!

Seconded. Still brings up tears when I think about it.

Thats not the games fault.
YOu had tons of hours to get into it.  If by the end you felt nothing than you were never going to anyway.
John Marston is one of the best game characters because he feels real.  He has motivations that you can relate to (just wanting to run his little farm with this family) and his past refusing to let him go.
There's a reason I find Rockstar to be masters of video gaming and its not just because they make fun sandbox games B)

Some people just don't like Westerns, like myself.

Well, this scene is not the ending per se, but it was pretty powerful at the time. Kudos to "Canonical aside" for that.

Sorry ... Bioshock 1 had a bittersweet emotional ending?

BIOSHOCK 1? The BioShock 1 which had what's generally regarded as one of the crappiest endings of all time?

Thank you so much. People keep saying how that ending was horrible because "nothing the players did mattered" in the end...I think that's all the reason for why it had such a huge impact, a character willing to throw everything he (as in the player) worked for away, for very much emotional and not logical reasons. I still hope for a sequel.

According to reports, they released an Epilogue DLC shortly after like they initially planned, this dispersed the outrage against the illogical ending and got the fans back on their side.

I think what people mainly liked about the Epilogue DLC was how much more difficult it was compared to the main game.

I also think there is a DS sequel, which continues the story, but I never played that...

No, according to the reports and reviews, the Epilogue DLC had a lot more information and that's what they wanted.

Definitely Read Dead Redemption. I was surprised by it but it felt so right. It was impactful and sad. The ending for Mass Effect 3 was just confusing and made me go "wtf just happened?"

About how I felt after Mass Effect 3:

I didn't think so. I played the Epilogue twice and it mostly just build a bit on the end, there was a lot of personal stuff between Elika and the prince and a sequel was set up, but...to me it didn't feel like there was all that much more information. For that matter, I never felt like it was needed. But is, of course, just me and I tend to be very optimistic and forgiving anyway.

Everyone has an opinion, no one is wrong, unless it's a factual debate.

In any case, I'm forgiving but I'm not fond of being made to feel stupid like ME3 did for me.

At least that would fit with the overall game, which was pretty f*cking bad and a real disappointment.
