why does everyone think this ending was so great? I had no emotional attachment to those characters what so ever and I fail to see how anyone could.OmegaBlue0231 wrote...

Thats not the games fault.
YOu had tons of hours to get into it. If by the end you felt nothing than you were never going to anyway.
John Marston is one of the best game characters because he feels real. He has motivations that you can relate to (just wanting to run his little farm with this family) and his past refusing to let him go.
There's a reason I find Rockstar to be masters of video gaming and its not just because they make fun sandbox games
Sorry ... Bioshock 1 had a bittersweet emotional ending?spiros9110 wrote...

Some people just don't like Westerns, like myself.

Thank you so much. People keep saying how that ending was horrible because "nothing the players did mattered" in the end...I think that's all the reason for why it had such a huge impact, a character willing to throw everything he (as in the player) worked for away, for very much emotional and not logical reasons. I still hope for a sequel.

According to reports, they released an Epilogue DLC shortly after like they initially planned, this dispersed the outrage against the illogical ending and got the fans back on their side.

No, according to the reports and reviews, the Epilogue DLC had a lot more information and that's what they wanted.

I didn't think so. I played the Epilogue twice and it mostly just build a bit on the end, there was a lot of personal stuff between Elika and the prince and a sequel was set up, but...to me it didn't feel like there was all that much more information. For that matter, I never felt like it was needed. But is, of course, just me and I tend to be very optimistic and forgiving anyway.

BIOSHOCK 1? The BioShock 1 which had what's generally regarded as one of the crappiest endings of all time?
