Hi everyone, I've just come back to DA2 after a year away and I've read about all the corruption issues that have resulted from Mark of the Assasin so I've decided not to buy it.

My question is whether or not people have had siilar issues with Legacy, I haven't been able to properly verify this from what I've read but have seen some suggestions that this may be the case.

Sorry if this has been covered but like I said I couldn't properly verify this.

Thanks.

Some have, some haven't. I personally had corruption issues that were somehow related to MotA but mine didn't happen in MotA, it happened in the final quest of the game. But only when I've finished both Legacy and MotA, if I play just Legacy and then finish the final quest I don't have the issues. For the vast majority of people the corruption happens when both Legacy and MotA are downloaded and finished before finishing the main story, or when Legacy is finished after the main quests AND MotA is attempted. Legacy should be fine for the vast majority of people. A very few, far less then MotA has effected, played Legacy they had issues but its rare compaired to MotA.

I played both of them and had no corruption. Everything runs very smoothly, except I didn't get two promised items for having 3DLCs. But that is another problem.

Thanks for the responses, I think I'll just pick up Legacy then.

Hate to revive an old thread, but I just bought both the Legacy and MotA DLCs yesterday, started playing MotA tonight, and then came across this issue on the Dragon Age Wiki. I'm a little confused as to what's going on.

I saved before I started MotA, in Hawke's estate, and when I saved during MotA I started a new save file. I haven't experienced any oddness so far (it hangs a little sometimes, but nothing worse) and when I load files (either my current MotA save or my previous Hawke estate save) it doesn't tell me any corruption happened.

I'm on a PS3, latest updates as far as I know, and I'm just wondering what my risk is. If everything goes to hell, can I just reload my save from the Hawke estate, carry on through the rest of act III as if nothing happened, and beat the game with no consequences other than wasting my money on a DLC that doesn't work? Or if I get a corrupted save, will I not be able to play the game anymore?

Just want to be clear before I keep going, thanks for your help.

Yes, reloading from before I started MotA is the only way I can get a save file that isn't corrupt.  All my save files from before and durring MotA are fine, and the save files after, leading up to the second to last boss battle, are fine.  Its anything from the section immediately before that boss fight and after that corrupts.

I, too, have both Legacy and MotA. Played them both with one of my characters on a rogue playthrough and *didn't* have any corruption issues (thank goodness).

There was a patch issued that's supposed to have corrected the corruption issue. It seems to have worked for me. I'll probably try it again with another character just to see if lightning strikes twice in the same spot.

I also beat the game with no corruption issues on a rogue playthrough. I played both DLCs in Act 3, then found out about this, and spent the rest of the game waiting for the other shoe to drop, but it never did. All my saves, including my post-game one, are fine.

Doing another playthrough as a mage, and hoping to get lucky a second time. Who else has played through after doing both DLCs and doesn't have a sad tale to tell about it?

I'm sorry to revive an old thread, but this is the same issue I've got as well.

Isn't there any way to fix it? Or, does it mean that I'll need to remove the DLC?

Bought the dlc yesterday after a long time without playing the game.

Obtained the plat long time ago.

Now it installed immediately the 1.05
Started the game with my mage (completed game)

. Mota worked apparently fine
Legacy gets corrupted as soon as i progress in the game: i could continue until final bossfight then got multiple corruption files and had to abandon.

I feel like my money is being stolen for a product which has serious bugs since a long time (people starìted to complain in January).

It appears Bioware is not taking any issues about this. Pretty frustrating.

I know it's never going to happen, but Bioware/EA should give us the option to refund the DLC for this game. I paid twenty bucks for Legacy and Mark of the Assassin and I can't even play them without my saves corrupting.
