Sorry for clotting the forums, this is probably well-known but I'd still like a quick clarification.

So, I know that the quests you pick up on the Citadel are mainly timed and "expire" once you reach a certain point in the main storyline (priority missions). I'm talking about artifact fetching and helping out people in the hospital etc. What I'm interested in is if the same is true for N7 assignments AND the missions that don't count as such but are optional anyway, like the Rachni investigation and the Ardat-yakshi business. Can I put them off for, say, right up until the final Cerberus base assault? Or do they "expire" too? 

I'm asking because I was a bit paranoid on war assets in my first playthrough and I tackled every available side-mission before each priority one, and I'd like to know if I can be a bit free and still get them done when I feel like it.

Time only proceeds if you finish a Priority Mission, so in your case, no, best not put them off(Though some of them shouldn't be time sensitive). Try to finish all other mission before proceeding with the priority ones.

That's basically what I do, clean sweep of the Citadel before and after every priority mission to pick up quests and then a sweep over the Galaxy Map to 100% any cluster that might have popped up. But still, I'm interested if there are specific criteria by which certain types of missions time out and others don't.

It is stated in a walkthrough that the Tuchanka Bomb goes off if you completed 3 missions after receiving it. Completing the mission Cure the Genophage locks the mission given by Primarch Victus and Wrex. The mission to rescue Admiral Koris and Legion's side mission are also timed, they get locked once you start the Destroy Reaper Base mission on Rannoch. I have also seen others stating that the Ardat Yakshi mission is timed, other than that there's not much information unfortunately, seeing as most people would finish the side missions before doing the priority missions.

There is a post on the xbox forum stating the order of missions to be done. The ones before the priority ones get locked out if you do not complete them before starting the priority.

Alright. Thanks for all the help =) I know of the mission priorities on Rannoch and Tuchanka though, that was kinda obvious since you had an end goal on both planets and several branching missions which could only be completed beforehand. Anyhow, thanks again.
