Mac Walters did not necessarily misrepresent anything in this interview, if he was telling the truth as he understood it at the time. I'll leave it to people to tease out the ramifications for themselves.

" You play as Commander Shepard, a starship captain with the Kirkian tendency to tag along on away missions and an assortment of Skywalker-esque space-magic."

We were warned.

I'd rather not knock these guys, I'm ok with knocking their work when it's bad (like the ending) but I don't really want to bad mouth staff by name. Besides, he did write Garrus, the unofficially, official best character in the series.....

But... he didn't write the "bro date" or the bit at the end which I thought was the best Garrus of the series.

In all honesty war asset missions are not that important in the grand scheme of the game because you can by pass all of them with a Continous promotion in multiplayer. I don't think there is a cap. You just have to be a very dedicated mp. So there is no grand consequences in all of that when you can gain 100 percent readiness an 4000 ems multiplayer points. Though I could be wrong and there is a cap, but as of right now I'm pretty close to 1000 points on my n7 special ops squad.

Hey, don't call them lies. Saving the Rachni twice gets you +75 on the crucible War Asset score! Which in the end is totally, utterly irrelevant.

That has a MAJOR effect on Mass Effect 3, and not just in the final battle with the Reapers! <_<

It's EA. Does anyone expect anything but lies anymore, these days?

The thing with peter is he fully intended to have those things in his game and when release came about he only advertised what he was able to do in the game. A year before release he will adversite his hopes, a week before release he tells us what is really in the game.

The thing I will say about Mass Effect 3 is that the choices you’ve made previously, and the differences that those choices represent, are much bigger than they’ve been in the past. There are certain missions that are simply not available at all because of something you’ve done in the past. Those are usually on a smaller scale. Is Conrad Verner alive or dead? [The presence of the Rachni] has huge consequences in Mass Effect 3. Even just in the final battle with the Reapers.

WHAT BULLSH@T that is not true Mac that is simply not true.

I'll just echo what's already been said about our favorite big bugs: Saying that having them on your side will have a major impact on your final battle with the Reapers is a complete falsehood. The overall contribution to your war asset total is negligible.

For crying out loud, why would you even make a statement like this when it would turn out to be so easily refuted only a few weeks later? Didn't he know it would make him look completely ridiculous?

What the HELL, Mac???

Exactly.  I can respect Peter Molyneux because he tries his darndest to get his vision into the game.  Now, that doesn't always happen, but he doesn't lie to your face. For example, with the release of the "final hours of ME3", you had Hudson saying that answers will be had to the press but actively going against this internally.

Yeah the rachni had just a little more points in war assets than pinnacle station Turian forces I picked up. I really thought the rachni would of had more impact on ending rather than just be a part of grunt's mission.

I doubt the game could be so thoroughly overhauled in a week.

The question is, can we get the same endings by simply playing Mass Effect 3 by itself (new character), or does importing our saves actually get us new endings?

I can see no noticeable differences myself.

I do hope the entire BioWare presentation at PAX, including questions asked and answers giving is put online somewhere. I really need extra popcorn and beer for that moment. I just know it is going to be enjoyable to watch.:D

Depending on what Bioware will say at PAX there is a chance it will turn into a raging inferno instead.

"When I played ME1, my female Shepard hooked up with Kaiden. In the second one, me and Garrus had a little thing. How do those multiple relationships manifest in the third one?

Good luck to you! All that will play a factor in Mass Effect 3, for sure! There are cases where it could make things difficult for you"

Huh? I feel like I missed something.
